Agreed, this is one of the coolest and biggest revolutions in computer design that there has ever been, and people are just passing it off as a microsoft gimmick.

Ugh the animations and AI are so crap!! Then there's the pathetic special effects like explosions, and the fact that so many bullets clearly go through you without doing anything. So much about this game screams last gen.

I really don't think there's any chance of it being available even as just an option because it would make significant changes to the gameplay. But just think how it would revolutionise cover in FPSs!! Though I have to say I think it would work better on a wii. The body movements just make more sense there. I never saw the wii version of this, but if it can do the same thing then it could make an awesome fps. And it would also rock for table tennis!

Oh yeah, it's not just an eyetoy for the PS3, it's much more advanced really. That's why it can identify such things as barcodes on eye of judgement cards. The eyetoy could only sense movement but the eye can distinguish objects. Massive difference.
They've already done lots to reduce the amount of cooling required. The white PS3 has much much fewer air holes than the original. I'm not usre, but I think the slimline PS2 doesn't have a fan at all, which is why it can be so small. The PS3 does have a massive fan, but it doesn't seem spin that fast, judging by the lack of noise, so they probably aren't actually that far off stripping it out all together. They could certainly get by without such a large one by now.
Dude that is so unbelievably cool! I wish some developers were ballsy enough to make big budget games that featured this. However, it's not going to happen. They simply don't want to alienate any of their audience, which will be unavoidable if people have to buy a PS eye and a pair of IR glasses. It might make some small low budget PSN games but I want a proper shooter to use it!
Hell, I want to get one of the new micro ps2's they're bringing out in the spring just because it should be brilliant for taking to college. Just keep it in my bag and play on it during breaks :D
