Movies like Fight Club are waaaay more likely to spark off atrocities than videogames. Movies can teach you how to kill people or take drugs. In a videogame you press a button and the person in front of you dies. Doesn't teach you how to obtain or use a gun.

It's all about the size of the maps and availability of vehicles. Gears and COD4 have relatively small maps and no vehicles, so they have 8 and 2-16 players. I have my most fun in COD4 when it's teeming with players so I like 16. However, if they put more than 20 players in then it might get too mad.
Games like Battlefield and Warhawk have massive maps with loads of vehicles so you definitely want a cap of at least 32.
I've got me an LG Viewty. Okay, yeah, so the touch screen isn't as good as on the iphone, but there are no problems with it. It's no good as a music player, but neither is the iphone with its crap capacity and messed up headphone jack. There's no gps either. The closest it's got is google maps.

Absolutely. What Halo is the king of is not quality nor sales. It's hype. The king of hype. GTA beats halo in terms of sales but I don't think you can get people as excited about GTA as you can about Halo.
Killzone is definitely the best candidate for a hype machine this year, just because anyone who sees the graphics has their mind blown.

Got that moment at the end of the boat level was solid gold. You see the chopper pulling away and think "fuuuuuck!!!! I was too slow!!!" And you just instinctively make a jump for it, and when you see your hands come up and grab the chopper - priceless.
Nah, Far Cry isn't even a similar shooter. Battlefield, yes. I think the closest things to Halo this year will be Haze and Resistance 2. Both are sci-fi shooters with an emphasis on multiplayer. They both seem a bit more grown-up though.
I know people have stopped caring about Haze but I like everything I've seen about it. The graphics are mostly great, the gameplay should be solid seeing as it's being made by Free Radical, and the multiplayer is receiving a huge amount of attent...
It's not really getting any negative feedback at all this year. All the fanboys said 2008 would be the year of the PS3 and so far it's turning out that way.
It's my impression that gamers aren't satisfied with Wiis because of the lack of games.non-gamers and casuals get wiis while gamers get 360s and PS3 or upgrade their PC. I therefore don't see why the wii should be thought of as in competition with the other consoles. It doesn't have any competition at all, which is why Nintendo is free to overcharge it so much.

I was shocked by the whole idea of pikmin. Basically you control an army of slaves and force them to do your bidding. You give them different jobs to do depending on the colour of their skin, and even send some of them to die. It's like being Hitler. Sickening.
Yes, but that tingle of adrenaline was 90% of the time followed by instense anger, overwhelming frustration and swearing. I hate when a developer decides to make their game harder by just removing checkpoints. It is NOT fun. Games like the ones you are talking about cause more damage to gaming equipment than the RROD, mainly due to keyboards and controllers being smashed to pieces in fits of anger.

Red, I know how much you enthused about Assassin's Creed, but I'm going to wait around for AC2. It's a good studio and I'm sure they can learn from their mistakes.
