Yeah ratchet was great. It implemented sixaxis in ways that it made more sense to use sixaxis than not to use it! For example, gliding would not have been anywhere nearly as enjoyable with an analogue stick, and I can't think of any other way they could have created a controllable tornado without impeding your movement or movement of the camera.

Wow, you clearly haven't played many FPSs. Halo 1 was incredibly repetetive and uninventive. One of the best examples of cut and paste level design around.
The gameplay was decent, but the game for me was average at best.Compare it to games like Half Life 1+2, Bioshock and COD4 and it falls flat on its face. Halo brought nothing new to gaming. What it did was bring something new to CONSOLE gaming.

Well of course what could have happened it they just stuck his console into a pile of broken 360s for refurbishment, and the guy who got his console didn't know it had to go back to the original owner. He probably thought that the console was going to be sent to someone as a replacement for their broken 360, and he couldn't send it out with all those scribbles on.
It's unlikely someone washed it off maliciously, rather they thought they were supposed to. Hell, maybe it was some illegal...

So what typifies Battlefield gameplay for you?

Skate and SSX were quality.

Frankly it's the kind of thing that will always work best on the wii. To really get the best out of head tracking you should be standing up, and aiming with the wiimote would be perfect in conjunction. Too bad the wii probably isn't powerful enough to run it in a game....

If motorstorm had splitscreen I'd play it way more. As it is, it's not that fun to play against AI and I'm not good enough to play online!
One thing that they need to change this time around is the loading times. They were fairly shocking some of the time.

Much like homo erectus.

*giggles*

But no, seriously, GTA isn't about the gangster at all for me, as much as San Andreas would hate to believe. It was all about the freedom. Few games had ever given you that kind of freedom. Want to be a policeman? Just get in a police car. See a fire engine and you can be a firefighter. There's even an 'ice cream' truck.
GTA also had the genius humour, for example the aforementioned 'ice cream' truck, and the radio stations like ...

WHAT is America? I'm certainly not in America. A great many people here are not. Don't make the mistake of assuming that America is so grand that it owns the internet.
And by the way, you don't really have free speech. Try going to a policeman and say "I've got a bomb" without being arrested or shot.
Why do you think you can't type the F word on this site?

It's Jehovah. Or Iehovah. Or Ieouvah. Or even Yohuah. None of them are correct anyway.

I know more people who play on PCs than than people who play on consoles.

Gabe Newell said everyone at valve was playing it all the time because it's awesome. Sounds like a damn good game to me.

Consoles win it for me because of the multiplayer. Gaming is just more fun with friends.
I don't think price is really much of an issue. We all already have PCs, and unless yours is really crappy, it's usually about the same price or cheaper to upgrade your PC to a competent gaming level than to get a console.
What also matters hugely to me is controls. Of course, for rts no sane man would pick a controller, but for everything else, including fpss, a controller wins hands down for...

As long as the the 360 still has hardware issues, I don't see how it is at all possible for it to win this console generation. Warranties will run out and people will just give up on the 360. It's one of the main reasons I refuse to get one. Luckily almost all of its exclusives get released on PC :D

Because we all want snake. Lots of snake.

Let me guess, you never play multiplayer? I have friends you see, so I'm planning on buying two DS3s on top of my two sixaxis controllers. I'm not replacing anything. I'm getting a new, better one. The sixaxis is still a bloody good controller and you don't really miss rumble unless you've just been using it. Rumble is by no means necessary at all.

I love it in motorstorm. You just have to make sure you're in first person view, and it works beautifully.

And COD 3 used it brilliantly as a melee attack.

I have a headset but I've found I much prefer to use the eye as a camera with a good quality pair of headphones. With normal tv speakers it's sometimes hard to hear people's voices and you get echo coming into your mic, but with headphones they're right in your ear and the tv can be silent so the microphone only hears your voice.
