Yes!Been waiting for this one long time.
Lighting is exactly the same.Shadow maps, self shadowing and some textures are the only difference, beside brightness.
Crysis 2 will definitely set the bar for graphics this generation and Crytek being Crytek this does not surprise me a bit. With new tessellation support Cryengine 3 will be even better licence.
"Crysis 2 is shaping up well. The CryEngine 3 is up and running on consoles, and looking unbelievable."
So far so good...one thing i noticed is,Crysis 2 looks better and better each time they show it to public.Does anyone remember those old GDC shots that people were laughing at?Now to look unbelievable...heh...
ugly...ugly game.Man...those textures...f.u.g.l.y.

Game looks ok...nothing more...
Of course they are. There is nothing wrong with that, whats wrong is the constant Sonys and MS "bashing" of Wii and Nin couple years ago.Give credit where credit is duo, show respect and no body will even care about "following a leader" but MS and Sony made mistake about it,now changed their mind when they saw it worked for Nintendo and now people are butthurth trying to defend them.
Its like in following the tech...Everybody is following the leaders(Germa...
Agreed. But at the same time, lets be honest.Nintendo is a leader, undisputed leader of gaming industry since its birth, when you think of gaming you think of Nintendo and when you think about kinect and move you think,Wii HD :)
It seems like games that are ported to 360 look about identical and games that are ported on ps3 looks and play slightly worse.Nothing mindblowing...this game seems to suck so...
It seems like ps3 version is slightly sub hd.
I say you are right!
Yes they did.Sure, this is announcement.I bet they gonna announce it early next year or at E3 and than go head to head with Gears 3 :D
360 gamers love to buy games...especially Halo.Anyway...it seems like MS is on the track.Im happy for them, its all nice and dandy BUT since they have such an income, would it be such a hassle to buy 3-4 studios to make couple of new exclusives per year?I mean...they have all the money in the world...
So now every site has comparison...wow...what happened to gaming?
PS2 was DEFINITELY the hardest platform to develop for.Its gpu was such a crap that it was almost indescribable,it did not even have vertex units, all that work was done on VUs from EE.Harder to develop than ps3,definitely.
They say this because their cost would go skyhigh if new consoles would come but im sure they would want some ~4gb of ram coupled with nice 6-12 core cpus and new top of the line gpus.Man...i want it now!No body is really taking advantage of what these beasts have to offer, perfect place would be in consoles since they can squeeze much more performance with closed box.
@datruth
But why would you offload it on cpu(in PC case) when it takes mere 0,4ms?Thats nothing.Thats less then 1% of rendering time, insignificant.
I think you are wrong...DLAA runs at ~2ms on Xenos and ~1.6 ms on SPUs,thats not exactly 2 times slower ;)
And ~3,7ms of rendering time with unoptimized shaders is not actually bad, especially in games with deferred rendering. They will probably get it down lower with more optimization and real dev kit and it will definitely be feasible.
Anyway...4ms of SPU time is ~12% of spus time for processing. For an AA that isnt really cheap.
Well there should be minimal shooting, this is more like heavy rain in open world,R* style, gameplay. If done right this could be HUGEE :)
