You still can make amazing looking games on UE3 that look different, especially now since they improved lots of stuff in couple of last months like DOF,motion blur, sun shafts, lighting, character lighting etc.
Mirrors Edge,Gears 3 and ME2 all look different from each other but still great.
It seems like everyone that was on event are all over the game, from gameplay side and visuals as well.Nice to see Crytek are finishing it and delivering us next month, cant wait!
LOL I already love it hehe
Protagonist is one crazy motherfucker that i know for sure after watching this.
Show me one more KZ3 article I posted on bar the one with size of data on disk, please,be my guest :)
And whats shader heavy game in 1080p for PS3 if I may ask?And don't tell me GT5 cus it ain't 1080p,its 1280x1080 which is far cry from true HD.Like 800x700 is from real 720p.
Ill tell you why...Its because UC games as well as KZ(especially 3) are such a highly polished, cinematic and detailedly produced games with enormous production values. You can't compare games like Fable or 3 yrs old Gears 2 running on old tech with those.Especially since GG and ND are tech wizards.Alot of things, not solely graphics make them great...Its more about attention to details. In cinematics their hair is great done, the clothing and lighting, animations and facial animations,everythi...
Me to!Here on Mycrysis they put character bio so if anyone is interested to see a some "snippets" of story/characters look it up!

P.S
Damn! Those face models look fine :D
Exactly. To me...best looking game could than end up being new Fight Night because characters there look like fuckin CGi but does it push console like KZ2?No of course.
Anyway...from HDR and dynamic lights,to dynamic shadows and camera/object motion blur...to great physics and open levels and even real time bokeh effect(when using powers you can see it) all of that is displayed on console version.Only game that i know that has all this on consoles is UC2.Note that GOW III an...
If you read the latest preview they said that SP if far far better looking than MP.And it really is...You just have to look who makes them-Crytek Frankfurt(German studio who made CE3) and Crytek UK(previously developed Haze and long time ago Timesplitters). You can't compare SP with MP even in ordinary games, where its made by same team not to talk about the versions that are made by different studios. One of them genius with tech and gameplay and other fallen from grace once great studio. ...
You CAN'T compare Crysis 2 to other console games purely based on fact that CE3 does EVERYTHING in real time. You have real time of day, dynamic shadows(non baked),dynamic lights and volumetric sun shafts.People should give them credit for that, especially being 3rd party. With all duo respect to KZ3 but there is alot of baked in lights and shadows(not that is bad but still...,don't give me disagrees because i will put their own presentation here if you want),they have pre baked sun shaft...
Yea but neither console has power to render two full 720p images.Only thing that worked as i know is Stardust 3D.
Are you crazy?Look at all those reflections man...they are sick.Lighting looks damn nice and there is even motion blur, per object also.Anyway...What do you expect NY to look like anyway?Poly shaped?Thats how buildings look like in real life, like 3d boxes, not like plants or balls :S
Oh yea...GTA IV and RDR are both prime examples of great graphics for open world game.Very immerse world, much more live like than any other open world game.Nice lighting, great animations and physics and tons of stuff happening at once...
I still remember taking a chopper above LC at night looking at whole city thinking how beautiful it is :)
Can't wait for next GTA to see what R* has in store for us.
No they are not!Graphical tasks do use different technique when you put Crysis 2 PS3 blu ray disk in PS3 but the settings are written in code and represent the "bar" that will be used.
For example...In ps3 cfg. file says water_tessellation=6 which equals a bit above medium water tessellation in Crysis game. The way thats gonna be achieved on PS3 is different but result will be the same because graphics card will use set tessellation amount of 6 because thats writte...
This is how its gonna look on PS3.If you don't believe I suggest you download Sandbox Editor 2 and see for yourself. This guy even used 720p resolution to give as close as possible results. The editor has console(360 and PS3) cfg. files where everything from lighting and post processing to draw distance,LOD and shadows is written in and this guy basically loaded the settings and used it.
This is how its gonna look on PS3.EXACTLY like this.
I wonder how can you say I think and the fact in the same sentence about such an issue?I can say "fact is that 2+2 equal 4" but you can't say "The fact is that i think that God does not exist".Thats not fact, thats you taking yourself as some kind of all knowing superhuman. This blog is bull btw...
I see you don't get it...Leaked Crysis 2 has CE3 editor in it,the engine. It has 360 and PS3 settings and you can choose even them to play on.So this guy, confirmedly, chose PS3 settings and played it on 720p.Thats the closest you can get on how PS3 version looks. It will look EXACTLY the same bar performance,it wont run at 40fps like video...
Yap.Seems like Crytek/Crysis 2 started to "pick up steam" now that is nearing the launch.Everybody seem to be hyped and loving it,it even looks marvelous on consoles. They really did a great job and now confirmation that they are still going to push PC development with next Crysis is great to hear :)
Be sure Crytek does not game or capture videos on PCs with 1GB of ram ;)
No really, this is console version...There has been numerous screenshots from 360 as well as PS3 version of the game that people could see in leaked CE3 editor,it REALLY looks nice.
I wouldn't bet on that...frame rate looks really "consolish",alot of dips below 30fps,there are some major pop ins that you cant see in PCs with even 1gb of ram,and i doubt they recorded video on that and even screen tearing is there. Not just that but all footages till now where "console settings" as Cevat confirmed, this however clearly states 360.
Agreed. After playing Crysis 2 for a short period of time on not even highest settings but 1080p I would be very happy if new consoles were to be announced in say 2012 E3.
