@alvira81
He's not wrong, that's absolutely not how it works. There's a reason Activision even got to make the Spider-Man movie games; they held the license for Spider-Man games. Sony only currently holds it as per their licensing agreement with Marvel. Should Marvel decide they don't want to renew it, that's that.
I think it's more that people are tired of the assertion that Spider-Man always NEEDS help, or NEEDS to team up with others to get stuff done that people have seen him tackle either entirely or mostly on his own in the past. Rubs folks the wrong way.
Personally, I'm all for cameos, so long as they're done right.
@sampsonon
There are no MCU games anymore.
Isn't Reason 5 basically a retread of Reason 1 here? They easily could have been folded in together as they have to do with portability.
Kind of a weak list tbh.
I'm confused, they do know it was Toshiba pushing HD-DVDs right?
EDIT: nvm they referred to BluRays as HD-DVDs for some reason and by god their logic is really stupid on that front
Chill. It's two people at once. There have been months between most of these, often with a pre-announced intent to retire.
As for why they're both announced as leaving the same day:

Eh, no? You literally have to stream it off native hardware on the PC.
You know you still have to pay full price to buy those games, right?
First this site says that the MCU deal happening means the games need to go multiplat, now this site is begging them to not do something they were never going to do in the first place.
Good grief.
It technically does. They're the licenser, with PS being the licensee.
This is easily your lamest attempt yet, fam. You know good and well by now that the games aren't part of the MCU deal at all, not to mention that Marvel already said the future of Spider-Man games is with PlayStation.
You're slacking.
You do know Mattrick left at the START of this gen, right?
He's been with Sony since 1987 and part of PlayStation since the beginning but sure, that's totally the type he is.
People get old.
Shocking, I know.
Jim Ryan is the President of SIE worldwide. That would be stepping down to a lower position.
Any acquisition would default the rights held by Sony back to Marvel.
But Sony still has several big IP under their belt, AND Sony Pictures Television, which would presumably give them access to a lot of TV shows, to say nothing of Funimation.
Can't say I'm too shocked to hear it. Layden's already 58, been with Sony for over 30 years, that's over half his life in one company. He probably wants a change of scenery for a bit before retirement.
Wonder who's gonna be his successor though.
Breaking: PS5 SSD to function like SSD!
So long as they're proper remakes and not more of that "Let's Go" crap...
Don't insult Insomniac's Spider-Man by comparing him to Maguire's Spider-Man.
