I trust you actually verified they were a former employee and didn't just trust a random claim you read on Reddit?

Hello Games is a small company with a very small number of employees who've done nothing but bust their butts trying to make that game what they promised and more.

EA is a megacorp who has continued their pattern of Battlefront II-styled releases since that game dropped, including Anthem, FIFA 20, and so on.

And hell, even DICE themselves botched Battlefield V.

So no, it's not even close to the same thing.

"In free-to-play games, 2 percent of players typically generate around 50 percent of revenue, according to consultancy Yokozuna Data. High-rollers often spend at least $500 per month."

"Today, the industry generates $100 billion in revenue with about 70 percent coming from in-game goods and services, according to Goldman Sachs Group Inc."

"The industry is exploring dark territory. Last month, an Activision Blizzard Inc. patent sur...

That date was when Japanese companies usually announce staff changes as it's the start of the second half of their fiscal year.

Everyone over here, however, proceeded to freak out.

Eh, nah. Think I'll stick with my laptop that actually lets me do a lot more portably besides just gaming.

Not to mention being able to play my entire steam library wherever I choose.

They only need a small percentage to buy in order to deem it worth it, dude. So unless you plan to somehow physically restrain every player from buying, that's not a solution that's gonna work. We missed our chance to stop this years ago, unfortunately.

People were screeching when they were still in the Remaster, the heck you mean?

@xenovis The vanilla Xbone and the Xbox One S are both weaker than the base PS4, wtf are you smoking?

This has been a thing for a long while now.

No.

They gave this a higher score of 6.7.

lmao read the article

"[DFC Intelligence CEO David Cole] points to a couple of distinct advantages PS Now has—in addition to that 700,000-subscribers edge it enters the fight with. For one, you can download many of the service's games in order to play them directly, skirting the latency issues that can arise when playing a game off a server located miles away.

Maybe more importantly, PS Now functions as an add-on rather than a replacement. "...

I really think half of you panicking in here need to actually READ the article. This is being billed as an add-on service, not a primary one.

Y'all need to CHILL.

Shawn was the first one to mention this to the press, my guy. Hell, he was also the one who announced they'd publish some of their MP games on PC too.

You are literally panicking over a decision to actually push a service they've been offering for years that was reached- and announced- months ago.

2381d ago 4 agree3 disagreeView comment

Chill, they said they were gonna do this months ago. They also said they're still releasing their games like they always have.

2381d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

Especially since Shawn said they'd be pushing the service more before he even left!

Shocking, I know!

2381d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

They've been stating that they intended to push Now more for months, why are you surprised?

2381d ago 2 agree0 disagreeView comment

Emailing developers won't work, it's up to the Publisher.

And just not buying them in games won't work either. They deliberately affect the games in order to push you to buy them, they make most of their money off a smaller percentage of users, and worst of all, they openly engage in psychological and emotional manipulation, often directly and intentionally aimed at CHILDREN in most games, in order to try to coerce people into spending money.

No. Only the games on PS Now and Free to Play games don't need Plus for Multiplayer.
