The slightly higher FPS count of this is primarily due to the native vs checkerboard resolution post pro consoles affecting frame rates. And the lower resolutions on Xbox compared to ps4 pre pro consoles affecting picture quality.

Yeah same here. Gonna get both by dec / Jan. Already upgraded to an lg cx. Halo infinite and horizon 2 for me will be the one I’m looking forward to in terms of exclusives. Plenty of great stuff on the way till those big ones like cyberpunk far cry re8 etc etc
Will be curious to see how this machine sells this gen. I suspect the machine is already a bit too undercooked in specs. Hitting 1080p might be a possibility but we are already seeing some games struggling to hit that native 1440p.

Although they are starting a next gen without next gen games and only running on potential and promises so it’s a uphill climb.

Awesome, game informer seems to have it at 9.75. Seems like it’s good/great. I bought all the yakuza games this year and it was only because I tried yakuza on game pass. After I finished through the game pass yakuza I got the remastered collection on ps4 and also beat judgement. Looking forward to playing this. Need to escape to japan for a while, especially today.
Variable refresh rates seems to be a game changer. I’m glad I picked up the lg cx last month. These new consoles and their tech seems to be taking advantage of these vrr and allm techniques.
And the tech behind variable rate shading seems cool as heck. Drop resolution on textures you can’t see to increase framerate using ai. And it seems they’re not using the velocity architecture pipeline. The coalition are the only ms studio who brought any quality this gen for Xbox. Hop...

So happy for respawn with their success of titanfall , jedi fallen order and now apex legends. They’ve really nailed every game this gen.
Looks good, earlier today there was a gameplay walkthrough of ac Valhalla running on series x but it got taken down by ubi. It looked good.

Weird , not sure what’s going on with the messaging with ps studios. The original trailer with the coming to pc line, and the leak about a ps4 version? I blame it on miscommunication and the pandemic but they should really get their messaging in order.
Devs should aim for 4k but with some visual trickery. Doing raw native 4k is great obviously but the consoles have only limited capacity.
Which is why I suspect the Upscaling tech this gen will only get better , as I mentioned dlss from nvidia and temporal image reconstruction and checker boarding technique is all done to give 4k smooth pixels while rendering a lower res image and keeping performance and FPS high.
