The problem with tiered pricing is that it would end up hurting developers/publishers. More expensive games people would be more inclined to skip, rent, or buy used. For years games don't tend to sell as many copies as they should because of several different reasons each consumer finds. Too short, no online, no MP, I'll buy it used, I'll just rent it and so on. Some games are worth more than $60 but to support those games there's often a Collectors edition of some sorts you c...
in all honesty you can't lump a singular price to DLC/expansions. Granted, a lot should be much cheaper and a few pounds, dollars, what have you but not all. It is a big problem in gaming atm though and I'd like to see the trend taken to the chopping block. Yes sometimes it's great for gamers and games but far too often it's not.
XB1 w/ a scorpion logo.
I get the no return on retail games unless defective. However, when it comes to digital, this policy does make sense, at least from a consumer side. They've limited how long you can play the game and be eligible to get a refund to prevent some abuse though I'm sure people will find a way to abuse the system anyway. The only downside here is that some people won't give a game enough time because it takes more than the allotted time to truly get a feel for some games. Either way, th...
one simple word, scalpers. That and yes, some people probably bought both the Master/Special while picking up a copy of the regular game to play. I bet a lot of the Special Editions and Master Editions, at least 25% went to scalpers.
Definitely sounds like he knocked the score for the wrong reasons. Either way, as hulk_bash1987 said, "I can't resist the incredibly charming visuals" as can't I. Looking forward to playing this later today.
disappointing. I mean it's a great game, couldn't begin to say enough great things about it. I finished it the other night w/ a Platinum plaque to add to the wall but... Wondering what was behind those elevators and finding out now, I can't help but feel this was something left out of the game all along. DLC can work but this DLC/Season Pass fits all is just BS.
The PS3 cost Sony more to manufacture than it cost, did they charge more because of that? No, they sold the PS3 at a great loss early on. Also retailers don't make much if any money on consoles. It's not like typical electronics where, say it costs the retailer $500 and the MSRP is and sells for $900.
Nintendo could have easily ate the $7 and launched with a price point of $250. Especially considering the mark up on peripherals. They didn't and while compared t...
you don't have to but if you care to read some back knowledge there's a great posting on the psblog,

Also, NieR Replicant was a JP only title while the Nier (Nier Gestalt) was released in the West & Europe. In Order of timeline it would go Nier Gestalt, Replicant and Automata though Gestalt takes p...
while I love the Shin Megami Tensei series and Persona, NieR Automata is incredible. Not to say Persona isn't because it is but NieR is something new, something Persona originally was. It's not only something different but it gets better with age, game over, think again.... To each their own but at the very least both are incredible games in the same league.
check your inbox and do side quests before proceeding as well.
oops. this should be replied under OokuChicken comment
@ athos,
I'd say it's one thing to Pirate games but a totally different thing to Pirate Old Games. Games such as the NES to even PS2 aren't available. At least not in a manner that gives money back to the developer, publisher or console maker. I buy all my games but if someone wants to 'pirate' an NES game instead of buying an original, used NES or one of those knockoff new 3rd party systems then buy a used cartridge then I saw feel free. After all, the...
they could have sold about 5-10 no problem.
no doubt, Gamestop has a history for bundling up HOT consoles. They bundle it up with an extra controller, a few games, and some other random items to reap the rewards. Still, Nintendo should have known to bring more console to market at launch. Especially but not limited to the fact a hot new Zelda title launched with the console. Regardless, it's unfortunate profiteers short supply then to boot retailer/s force bundles on those who want just the console & a game.
intrigued, no doubt. Hyped? a bit overkill for such a short and uninformative trailer. Still, NIS does some great work so definitely intrigued to see more before hype comes in. ;)
How did Heavenly Sword fair? I'd imagine it'll be on par with that +/-1. End of the day though Hellblade is likely to be a solid experience worthy of more appreciation than it's given. Ninja Theory is a very capable studio so it's likely this game will be solid, appreciated, underappreciated, loved and shat on. Only time will tell just how good it truly is.
Xbox needs exclusives but that's a problem that has plagued MS ever since the jump. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me which is in large the reason I've stuck with PS4 this gen. Don't get me wrong, the Xbox had several great exclusives while the 360 had not only more but some brilliant exclusives extending more genres. From PS up I have owned at least 2 consoles but not this gen. I have been tempted to bite, Sunset Overdrive, Quantum Break, Gears, Forza 4 (?), Sc...
I've said it along, VR, like 3d just isn't going to hold. I will say VR has endless potential though. And not just from a gaming perspective. Imagine being able to watch a sports game from a seat in the arena.... Like decades past perhaps in another 15-20 years we'll see it reintroduced and finally have the tech and support but right now, it's a niche market that just isn't going to take off; unfortunately.
If anything it's time for Jaffe to man up and get back into making a full size game. Ever since GoW he's focused on making smaller, indie type games. I haven't played Drawn to Death yet but it did look surprisingly fun. Regardless, I think Jaffe just needs to saddle up and dive into a new, full-ish sized game and put the indie work aside for a minute. Or just cater to the consumer and stop making what he wants. Though the whole point of his studio is so he can create what he wants...
