one major reason. The team at San Diego studios who work on The Show, many do love Baseball. Which is, imo, a major reason the game has been a success and is good as it is. Obviously I can speak for them all but from the outside looking in it looks like a lot of the studio simply loves baseball.
there's two reasons, I see it, that Sony is bringing MLB The Show to multiple consoles. One being MLB wanted them to and another is simply to increase profit. It's very possible MLB said, hey, we're happy to continue working with you guys but we want you release this game on multiple consoles. The original contract 2k signed with MLB back in the day allowed or gave access to the MLB license for first party development. Which is the only reason The Show was able to be created all t...
update: this deal is long gone.
sucks too cause I just bought 1 year for $44 from newegg.com but I'd have happily added another year for 25$
Wildlands was a blast and even better with a couple friends. Despite the usual Ubi fetch stuff/trophies for game time filler I enjoyed the game and getting the Platinum. Work on that trivial stuff alone and enjoy the campaign with friends. At first Breakpoint looked awesome. However the more and more I saw it the more I realized, for me, it just wasn't going to be worth buying. IMO they lost focus of why Wildlands was well received and sold well. Or just didn't care.
no doubt. these games along with many others are made knowing there's a niche audience for them. They aren't mainstream big selling titles even if, in some cases, they should be. Realistic sales expectations are placed on these titles. It would be foolish for Sony or any other publisher to use the same resources to advertise these games as they do the heavy hitters that appeal to the vast majority...
As for failing to commit resources to. I don't get what the a...
for F...ks sake if it's not broken!! Borderlands, just like any other f'n game isn't going to be for everyone. But at the end of the day the game is great and players love it for what it bloody is. A great f'n looter shooter; actual emphasis of looter. If Gearbox made changes you guys would be riding their cocks about how the old system was far better. Change can be a good thing but it's not a dam necessity.
I don't get it. So the Deluxe Edition is $80 and the Super Deluxe is $100 atm. The only additional thing you get with the Super Deluxe is the Season Pass and the "exclusive butt stallion cosmetic pack." The Season pass will probably be, what, $35-40 I suppose. $100 for the Super Deluxe seems like a pretty normal/reasonable price to me. So what, they're going to increase it to $110, $120? I get the early adopter bit but MSRP more than $100 on this package? Seems excessive to ...
I read an article earlier. Not sure if all of this mentioned in the IGN article.
Apparently this guy had someone else actually make the call. The person who made the call was recently convicted of making a TON of 911 [Swatting] calls and sentenced to 20 years. The guy who was suppose to get swatted was also convicted for giving this guy his old address which resulted in the guys death. If I recall that person got probation. 15 months does seem light but it's also, I im...
I'd imagine it's 200 redundancies. You know the stores that are w/in several miles of one another.
DC is a great game. If memory serves... I think Sony killed it early on by announcing it would be a F2P PS4 launch title only to delay it time and time again and announce it was going to be retail instead. By the time it released the interest was no longer there and many didn't like it was now a full priced retail title instead of F2P. Obviously the reviews didn't help either.
Eventually I bought it on sale years ago and imo it's a phenomenal game that also had...
it's my understanding the late game grind you can pay to skip is only available at the end of the season and geared toward players who don't have the time or don't want to invest the time to have unlocked everything naturally... From what I had read it sounded like something you can't buy day 1 to obtain everything out the gate. They still want players naturally unlocking these tiers & items. But somewhere toward the end of the season the option to buy will be there for th...
I didn't get a chance to play it for long today but out the gate they kicked things off with a bang. I love Platinum but I wasn't sure what I'd think of Astral Chain. After playing it for just that little I'm looking forward to digging into this after the weekend & have a good feeling I'm going to thoroughly enjoy it. Just wish it would've dropped Tuesday because I play online with friends Fri-Sat and with it being a holiday weekend possibly Sunday as well this wee...
to everyone putting this game on a pedestal it will be less than great. Those who over hype are always disappointed. I'm excited but I find it best to vest little interest in a game and play it for what it is. Hasn't failed me yet.
food for thought. there are some outlier games that don't need to be fun. They just need to be enjoyable. For instance, Heavy Rain, Beyond Two Souls and Detroit. Those aren't fun to me but they are incredibly enjoyable and immersive. Generally speaking though games do need to be fun.
That was my first thought. Rated M for MATURE. Adults game. Developers can't and shouldn't be held accountable for poor parenting. If it's rated M develop and do wtf you want.
it is absurd that a piece of plastic with a few ports for the power cord and couple USBs cost $100. That thing probably costs about $5 to make.
that's always baffled me. Just how many Game Stop locations there are in some places. Up here there isn't a single one. We have about 5 cities or townships w/in 15 minutes of where I live that consist of roughly 40k people combined and not a single Gamestop. Instead of placing them in smaller towns or regions and tapping smaller markets they've focused on placing far TOO MANY in cities, major cities and placing them close to one another. You don't see 5 Jimmy Johns w/in 5 squa...
That's my thought. Creating some new studios. It's baffling all this talk as if purchasing is the only the option. There's certainly enough talent out there to create some new studios. Sure maybe only 1 or 2 of the 5+ development teams you put together work out in the long run but now you have in house teams who have established themselves. Put something together, say this is what we're looking for, start working. Or just put them together and say bring us something you want t...
that's part of my take. 8-16 bit games age well imo. Everything else hasn't. The block textures, the bad animations, etc. The HD era [at least for me] brought a irrelevance to the 64+ bit games/consoles. Secondly the PS isn't that old. Most people my age don't miss those games [yet] but many have missed NES/SNES for years. Personally I've kept most my consoles so always had the ability to go back and play those games periodically... Simply put though, I think the PS Mini w...
In the past Atlus has stated they prefer to keep SMT on Nintendo and Persona on PS. This would have maybe been sometime last gen or early this gen. Seeing that SMT Nocturne and several other SMT titles were released on PS2..... Regardless, neither have been locked to one console or another but for whatever reason/s Atlus just wanted to keep both respective franchises on two different consoles.
