@thejigisup - what story?
I have to agree, no one is missing out. Though, it is kind of surprising not to just see the entire game. I'm not entirely sure what or how much content they have added this year but it's not like it had much for end game either; just a tower. For me Godfall was fun and entertaining but there really is nothing there in terms of story. If there was it is utterly forgettable/laughable. Basically, *spoiler* if you can call it that because I...
oddly enough, I was recently reminded via a magazine. A few weeks ago I saw it in the back of [I think] Popular Mechanics in their Video Game section of gifts to give or whatever they call their Christmas guide. They mentioned it for Best Story of the Year. Was really surprised to see it get recognition there. Anyway, I ordered it that night so I wouldn't forget again. And yes, it's also on sale digitally for a really good price now.
Just hope I'll get around to...
that's the problem with games development in general though. There's plenty of developers who say something early on that never make it into the game. Developers and Publishers both need to sit back and wait until the game is roughly 12 months away to start discussing and showing it. Or stay quiet on the systems, details, etc until they are in the game and likely to remain. Because at the end of the day their ambitiousness isn't guaranteed to make it into the game.
it is a good game. At least when I played it last year on PS5. It had minimal issues that mainly consisted of a few, sometimes funny, bugs/glitches. Typical stuff you'll see or can see in almost any game. Even Star Lord lost his head the other night when playing Guardians of the Galaxy. Unfortunately I had to reset though as I couldn't do anything but run around and shoot lol. If I'm comparing the two then I have to say they had about the same amount of issues; for me at least. I ...
far as I recall linear was only a bad thing when done wrong and/or being to restrictive. I don't remember there ever being an outcry over linear or that it being a bad thing. No one said DMC, GoW, or a plethora of other linear games from PS2 era to present were bad because they were linear. though, perhaps I'm wrong & that there was a large vocal group dissing anything linear...
The fact of the matter is that, yes, variety is a good thing. Be that open world, li...
Nier Automata and Astral Chain were amazing games. Yes, 2017 and 2019 respectfully. The point is that it takes time to develop a good game. Even Call of Duty is on something like a 3 year development cycle considering the fact there are 3 developers all working on their own entry to the series. If I recall Assassins Creed is split amongst 2-3 developers as well. Then of course you have the gaps between say, a Naughty Dog, Insomniac, 343 studios, etc games that are generally 3-ish plus years.....
@moon. Yes, I want the game on release date. What's wrong with that? All I did was state the issues I'm experiencing trying to get physical copies of new releases day one; physically. Not that it matters but I've also paid for a Prime membership for at least 2 decades now in order to get free "release date delivery" which is 90+% of my orders from them. So yeah, I'm disappointed, irritated, etc. Tried Walmart and yes, though late at least they ship FedEx w/ Sat deliv...
still love my physical copies. they always hold some value even if it's only $5. Not that I'm likely to see them lol. It's nice to look at a collection be it 50 or 5,000 games. Guess I'm just an old man but I truly prefer physical goods over digital. Imagine back before currency ruled. Here I'll trade you this object you can't see for that goat lol.
However, as of late, getting games on release day isn't happening and now I'm questioning whe...
the graphics were suppose to resemble a painting but they've cleaned it up over time. However I do agree while disagreeing. In the home base the graphics do still leave a lot to be desired. I couldn't help but think they should've just made a crisp, clean title or scaled this back to be a cheaper title while keeping the art appearance; maybe. Overall though, I thought the graphics in the beta weren't terrible. At least once you got into gameplay areas. Also keep in mind this i...
idk that I'd go that far. Final Fantasy can see a lot of changes from one title the next. Classic turn based FF such as VII-X; maybe but even that might a stretch...
But you're right, it is pointless to compare these two. Anyone who knows something about the Mega Tensei series is that both games fall under the same umbrella. One is the original while one is a spin-off. They both share a turn based system similar enough to one another [one uses a Persona and party w...
@thorstein - that doesn't mean there's not real hardware limitations that are impacting games on the Switch. Whether you want to admit that or not is up to you but it's a simple fact the Switch does suffer from hardware limitations.
Monster Hunter Stories 2, Marvel Ultimate Alliance, Xeno, there are so many good-great games that suffer on the Switch hardware. Are they still playable, sure, but they leave A LOT to be desired.
No doubt, GTA3 had a great impact on gaming. Vice City and San Andreas as well...
if you ask me 98% of PS2/XB/GC era games have aged poorly. Anything not in the 8-16 bit era hasn't aged well. Not only that but so many PS2 era games were buggy messes; especially but not limited to anything open world. We accepted some glitches, bugs, etc because that's how most games were. Though, as great as they were it's always baffled me how they still got such high scores b...
if you expect Playstation to roll out full back compat you're expectations are unrealistic. If you want to talk emulation that's another story.
Not responding or giving out warranties? don't know what you're talking about because I don't know of a single electronics device be that tv's, consoles, av receivers, etc that doesn't come with some form of warranty. The PS comes with a 1 year warranty; always has. After that year they generally charge ...
I'd have to disagree. These early GTA's were far from "extremely polished" at the time of release. Sure with GTA IV and, especially V, they provided a better polished game with fewer bugs/glitches but before that, GTA 3, Vice City and San Andreas were riddled with issues. I'd have to restart my game at least twice a night, probably more, back when these released. Every single night it was bugs/glitches such as falling through the map, getting stuck in some random locatio...
well the games definitely had their fare share of bugs, glitches and issues back in the day. Not quite as bad as an Elder Scrolls or some other open world games but they were there &, at times, extremely bad. I think people tend to forget just how bad it could be. The nostalgia of seeing through rose tinted glasses blinds them. Remembering only the good while neglecting the bad. Shit, you could be running across a street in GTA 3, VC and SA when suddenly you fall through the map forcing y...
actually Prince, if I recall Netflix counts it as a view if the video was watched for 2 minutes; or something incredibly short. Previously they would calculate views based on whether or not said viewer watched 70% of said title.... that's the numbers game the entire world has decided to play; or so it seems...
but you have a point. We will never know how many are sales vs game pass. And this doesn't just apply to game pass. MS can say whatever they want as they'...
@porkChop - yes, you'd be completely fine starting with Arise. It's a one off story like most of the other Tales games. It was also a friends first Tales of and he absolutely loved it. Think he also wrapped up his Platinum last week, though, he went and played Diablo 2 for a while hence the delay lol. But if you enjoy JRPGs, yes, do yourself a favor and at least check it out. imo it's not the best Tales of but it's a dam good game that's well worth playing. 2 cents
guess they're hoping you'll grab a shiny new $1400 phone alongside that nice new, $500 console. Or, knowing Verizon they'll force you to buy a new phone to unlock access to buy a PS5 lol...
Seriously though, yeah, this one is just beyond weird.
shit, I don't play MP games hardly ever yet one of the very few I have was KZ2 and I played the SHI!T out of it.
@porkChop - whether it was or wasn't a good game is subjective. However, while the campaign itself wasn't terrible there was no story there. Just a progression from area to area unlocking new suites w/ varying abilities... By the time I finished it I barely even touched the limited end game features the game had last year. Two friends were also uninterested in putting more time into the game. Truth of my opinion be told the best version of this game would have been a MP only title &am...
