true that. idk where these guys have been but Dragon Quest XI and Persona V send their regards. I don't give a shit if their budget was only $10, those two games are top tier, AAA titles that, last time I checked and played, are turn based.

Anyhoo, I really wish Honkai Rail was a full fledged retail release, not F2P. I'll likely check it out but the whole F2P, gatcha, mtx type stuff just isn't interesting to me. All that bs deters me from being able to enjoy and...

you do realize developers/publishers don't 'need' mainstream to have a successful, profitable, well loved title right.

@ Eidolon wrote: "why are you even comparing physical prices?"

why not? The complaint OP made was that these games are 30+ years old. If you want to go play these games on their original hardware those prices are what you'd pay. Regardless, if that doesn't work for you how about this. On the Google Play store FFI is $11.99, FFII is $11.99, FFIII remake is $14.99, IV remake is $14.99, V is $17.99, VI is $17.99...

though, in revisiting t...

while a tough pill to swallow it is, what, 6 games for $70. That breaks down to $11.66 per game. Sounds like a pretty fair price to me even if it seems expensive, and I don't like it. Considering they could've easily released these individually for $20-25 each, bundled two for $60 and charged $180 for the complete set....

I don't know what the carts are going for, but even buying the originals used I'd expect to be paying at least $10 each which means they&...

Maybe Capcom should go after Monster Energy. After all, Monster Hunter was around before that shitty energy drink; at least I think.... So consumers must be getting duped by Monster Energy thinking they are buying a Monster Hunter drink.

I have a hard time seeing any good judge siding with Monster, or even getting to a point where they hear the case. I could see this getting tossed after briefs are submitted because this is just an asinine, illogical and frivolous trademar...

my thinking is this, of course it's not disruptive because that's the business model of XB. They aren't in the software sales game, but rather the subscription service game. Even MS as a whole has adopted subscription services for their core products several years ago. So of course it isn't disruptive, it's simply the business model. You generally nailed it on the head, though. Nothing but word salad. 2 cents.

"if they knew how"

Don't you mean 'if they simply tried.' That's been my annoyance since XB stepped into the ring. Even at first they strongly felt they could dominate simply because they are MS, then for over two decades MS has not bothered investing in software. You know, the one thing the company built itself, and wealth on. All that time they could have at least tried, they could have created new studios, created partnerships, looked for pitch...

@ SullysCigar - contracts only exist when a deal is made. 3rd party publishers/developers don't need a contract to develop a game for consoles or PC. This is also why you often see smaller teams focus on one platform, because they don't have the funding to develop their game for multiple consoles. For major 3rd party publishers there is ample funding so they choose which consoles to release the game on, and begin development, though, obviously there's more to it before even going ...

and there it is.... all those 10 year deals were smoke and mirrors. Like I said when MS started offering 10 year deals to Nintendo, etc. Once those deals expire expect full exclusivity. Those deals were nothing more than to appease regulators short term because they're thinking long term.

Also, idk if anyone remembers, but it was well established over a decade ago that no one could compete with CoD, that it was a juggernaut no publisher, developer or game could touch. ...

@TheEnigma313 - that's a misnomer unless that was sarcasm. The reason they feel the need to buy HUGE, major 3rd party publishers is because they failed to invest into the software side of things. You know, the aspect that helps boost and give incentive to players to buy your console. MS has not given two shits about software, the one thing MS is known for; after all they are a software company. For over 2 decades MS has refused to build studios, create new IPs, build relationships, partne...

you know what else you won't find. An example of a console manufacturer buying a major 3rd party publisher. So it's absolutely asinine to say that you can't find other instances....

My problem is that MS has had over 2 decades to build studios, partnerships, make acquisitions of studios, create IPs, etc, but have not once given two shits about software. If MS had actually cared to build out the infrastructure and software to entice gamers into their ecosystem t...

except isn't he expected to continue leading Act/Blizz post merger? hard to get a golden parachute when you're staying on the job. Granted, considering most of his compensation has likely been a treasure trove of stock, yeah, he's in for a major payday but a golden parachute, hardly.

June is going to SUCK up funds!! Loop8, Raincode, Diablo IV, FFXVI all on schedule to release in June plus Trails into Reverie dropping early July. Better start saving those dollars.

that's just it, they're two different RPGs. Some will pick up one, some the other while some will pick up both & many will choose neither. Are there going to be some gamers who have to choose between the two? Certainly, but those same people are likely to, at some point, have bought both games.

At the end of the day both these games are going to sell incredibly well when looking at lifetime sales.

depends on your definition of back in the day. My back in the day a 4 or 5 was absolutely riddled with bugs. Any mechanically solid game was rated at least a 6-7+.

I preferred Beyond Two Souls. Still, Detroit was an exceptional experience just like Heavy Rain. Definitely happy to see the game has sold well over the years.

I feel like the text shouldn't be pixelated. Just watching the trailer has my eyes bugging out looking at/reading that text. Otherwise, looks pretty good so I'll likely play this at some point.
