Are games not grand.

I loved the Souls games!! OG Demon's Souls I got from Hong Kong, Dark Souls I-III, Bloodborne, have but haven't played the Demon's Souls remake and I agree. I didn't get the game delivered until Saturday but over 8-10 hours of play last night it's simply an Open World Souls game imo. There is nothing I'm seeing that sets this apart from other open world games. Perhaps that will change, though, I doubt it. Surely it's another great From Software title but there is n...

I get being frustrated by being limited in what you can do but how many hundreds of millions come from both game sales and coin purchases so players can buy the name on those cards and packs each fiscal year. At some point, due to greed by either FIFA or EA there will possibly be a breaking point. But to come out and say this? Seems like he's a bit out of touch with just how the FIFA Brand provides EA. 2 cents

while that is true it does seem Guardians hasn't sold that well. but Square is infamous for overshooting expectations on Western games so for all I know that's the issue. Now I'm curious how many copies have sold.

it was a fantastic experience and representation of the IP so it's sad to see this... for those who haven't played it, definitely worth picking up. Especially considering, last I saw, it's still only $35 physical at most retailers.

I don't know about everyone else but I'm just happy to own a PS5 and Switch. Though, yes, I would love a hardware upgrade so games don't run so poorly..... Currently I'd have to put the PS on top but this year is looking pretty great for Nintendo too. But to call 2022 the year of Nintendo? a bit far reaching atm; at least imo. Regardless of console fanatics and warring factions it's looking to be a great year for Nintendo and Playstation in terms of 1st and 3rd party suppo...

think I've bought more Sega/Atlus titles in the past 12 months than I had the past 12+ years. P5 Strikers, the entire Yakuza series, Judgment, SMTV, Demon Slayer, Sakura Wars and 13 Sentinels Aegis Rim... Keep it up Sega/Atlus.

that's just it. I recall a vast majority of games were only selling 350k to around 1 million units during the PS and PS2 era. If a game hit 1 million that was special. Now a game hits 1 million and it underperformed. Simply put there weren't as many gamers in the past which means less copies available. Throw in the fact many copies got tossed in the trash, ruined, etc. Yes, re-sellers and [especially] the internet don't help matters but the fact is there is a smaller, finite suppl...

@Hatchet - true. That's one reason I never use reviews or put a ton of merit into them. Opinionated drivel. As a professional, reviewers should be taking an unbiased approach to reviewing games. Rating it not for how they feel but for the games own merits and downfalls. Less of an opinion and more a matter of fact....

I can't even remember how many times I have seen a review and the writer clearly dislikes the genre or game because it's not their cup of tea. Tha...

and that's one of my largest issues here. "They've created very little." In just over 2 decades the XB division has shown it's ignorance or at the very least a lack of care towards building out studios and creating a compelling library of games. Now, realizing their folly they go on a spending spree snapping up MEGA 3rd party publishers and their studios? GTFO. MS/XB has the money to where they should have been creating their own studios over the years to work on IPs tha...

I wouldn't go that far. But I would be happy if they reverted back to the few years that brought us Dead Space, Dante's Inferno, and probably a few other games. When EA actually tried to become more diverse and create exceptional games for gamers. As for their business practices, sports franchises, etc, yeah, it would be wonderful to see some of that die but when EA is making 3x+ the money on FUT, MUT, HUT, Apex, etc than they are from selling the games themselves....

I get where you're coming from but did we ever have an announced window for release? Don't remember if the initial reveal or later trailer had '20XX' at the end but even if it did we all know how long takes Square to develop a game. So yeah, given SEs track record, if XVI doesn't drop by Spring '23 then it's less Co-Vid and more of the development timeline at Square. Not to say Co-Vid didn't delay and cause issues because it's quite clear all development te...

to call Deathloop a MS first party title is like calling a Twinkie a Little Debbie. Hostess created the Twinkie whereas Little Debbie simply bought out and makes them now. Same applies here. MS bought the umbrella company when Deathloop was essentially complete. Deathloop was not MS's title..... As for Halo and Forza, well deserved.

that was my initial thought. Rogue lights/likes just aren't for everyone. Personally if I'm not in the mood I'm not going to make it very far in them. Also, look at any games trophy percentages. It's not rare to see roughly 20-30% on the final trophy of the game; ie complete it. Granted there's also a fair share of 50-70% but still....

As for Hades, I was so excited for it, bought it on Switch right away since it was exclusive to and I don't have a ...

that's going a bit far, no.... I mean at least he's a motorcycle enthusiast who also has a bike company. Seriously though, I feel like I saw something pre-release in which Reeves said he'd played the game or implied he has. Perhaps he simply said he's seen it, idk. Regardless, F's the difference if he's actually played it. Not everyone is a gamer and all that matters is that he showed up, put in the work and did a great job. Then proceeded to go on a world tour promoti...

the reveal/teaser was great. Then they showed the first trailer months back... Now this... Yeah, idk wtf they're doing because they had gold in their hands and somehow have turned into copper. On top of that the pricing?

I've definitely been concerned but now, terribly so. I hope I'm wrong and they deliver a great story, gameplay, sense of adventure, etc but right now I can't help but feel this one missing the mark by an entire zip code.

I was definitely getting a Tales of vibe. been waiting a long time now for this one and I'm so happy to see that it appears to be delivering.

Also happy to finally see a good anime get, what appears to be, a proper game made. Rather, an RPG that actually & hopefully incorporates the sense of adventure, exploration, etc. from the anime. Can't wait for release date and I hope it sells like hotcakes once released.

that's kind of my thinking, though, not for said reasons. We have E3 & TGS but even E3 has become less dominant. Especially since the pandemic and with Sony not attending. We're also seeing how easily developers and platform holders can shift toward a more focused showcase such as Nintendo Direct and PS.

However, those two major events are traditionally the big shows with reveals. I believe the EU has a show as well but I don't recall that ever having major...

that's always been and will be my philosophy. "Buy what you want." It almost never disappoints & even in the rare event it does I almost always still enjoyed the time I spent playing said game. If I feel something's not worth $60 then buy it when it's $20, $30, $40 or eventually decide I don't really need to play that.

Now I get this month is especially strange & I'd have preferred Mortal Shell PS5 in the event I do eventually play it ...

that's just it. By the time my friends and I played through Godfall we barely touched end game. Even now, with only 3 trophies for the platinum I couldn't at the time and still can't bring myself to, or get friends to play so I can just get the dam platinum and forget about the game. At the same time, I'm certainly lacking in games to play....

At least now players are jumping right into the [supposed] meat of the game. It pains me to say this as a mainly sin...
