Are games not grand.

the problem with that is that every single GoW game was scheduled for release Holiday but bumped back to March. So if Sony is planning a March release I'd actually expect the game to drop in Fall. It's been a trend with the GoW franchise. Not that it's a bad thing. Obviously those extra months have paid off because GoW is a spectacular game every time it hits the market... But if the development plan is March I wouldn't be surprised if it's actually released in the Fall...

When I bought my original XBOX it was the last in stock. I ran home, opened up the box, and I had what was clearly a used, and dirty as .... xbox. It was closing time so I called the store to ensure I wouldn't have a problem the next day exchanging it. They said no problem, just bring it in. Next day t...

1. Lost Planet was highly overrated last year. It really wasn't that good of a game to begin with. I've yet to play the PS3 version so I can't say it's honestly that bad, but I think part of the reason for the low scores is simply that it's a year old game and the re-reviews/ers realize that it's not really that good...

2. You can't argue the Metacritic scores, but seriously, what does that prove? Any game with a multi release in the same time frame/date will have scored essentia...

Call me what you will but I don't feel the 360 has the best games. Pound for pound I've found the PS3 to be just as excellent as the 360 when it comes to games. Obviously the 360 has a few more because of it's release a year in advance; mind you, none of which I care for anyway. But at the end of the day I'm finding a precise blow for blow when it comes to software on each platform. I own just as many games for one as the next and exclusives are dominant in my collection. The only thing right...

While weak I think Activision has the right idea. Limit songs and releases. Don't just flood the market w/ overpriced songs for fans to buy. Rock Band is simply offering TOO MUCH imho. It's one thing to release a group of new songs every couple weeks to a month but to release 3+ new songs every week!? I don't think Rock Bands missed a beat with their dlc. That's just more than they should be offering.
But Activsion should be doing a little bit more. They should have a few more offerings...

Tuesday? Check your local Walmart... I was at ours today and they had it on the shelf!!

I was tempted to buy it just because it's not suppose to be out yet. :D Truth of the matter is that I'm not big on sports anymore. I guess 16 straight years of buying Madden along with various other NHL, MLB, and the occasional NBA title annually will do that to you... Although, I do Love the SHOW and said last year I'd wait till year 2 to buy it. Give them a year to get on the PS3... So at so...

bubble for you...

I was wondering how far I'd get in this before seeing some .... make some crap statement about frame rates. The modern gamer is so misinformed. Both are essential for gaming and both have their strong and weak points. It's up to the developer to create what kind of game they want and they take many factors into consideration when deciding 30 or 60 FPS. Now if only all these idiots [in general, not toward anyone directly] can get that through their thick and narr...

Lol, last I checked Sony and Samsung LCDs are produced on the same line. They're essentially the same flipping thing from top to bottom. The only real thing that differentiates them is the case and name on them. All important features and lcd panels are the same... Matter of fact, the production line was a joint effort by Samsung and Sony. Probably the sole reason Samsung is in ...

actually Sony has a 1 year warranty with all their electronics. At least any I've ever bought including receivers, tv's, dvd, Playstations, etc. So anyone claiming Sony is trying to charge them for a diagnostic after 90 days is lying or not disclosing the entire truth. Like perhaps they used an intercooler or game shark. Used another unlicensed product. The idiot threw away their receipt. Or it's their own damn fault the console broke to begin with and they were to dumb to lie about it... <...

If my console breaks I'm not going out and buying a new one. I didn't pay $300-600 for something I'll use for 1-3 years then replace because it broke due to poor quality. I could certainly afford to but it's the principal of the matter. When I buy any piece of electronics I buy quality and expect them to last a good 5-10 years. Which most do.

My original NES is still kicking. Working like new now that it has a new card reader in it. My original PS is still working great. My PS2,...

@ Slippymadfrog: It is two totally different things. On one hand you have a hand held and on another you have a console. One you pay $20-40 for a game and the other you typically pay a full $60 for unless you wait months-year for a price drop. But at the end of the day pointing out Blu Ray is irrelevant. We're talking portable console, and UMD. They're in two totall...

It's added a nice touch to some trivial elements of games while at the same time allowing developers to do some different things in games. Trivial touches such as walking across logs in Uncharted or uses Ninpo in Ninja Gaiden Sigma were nice touches imho. While archery and throwing in Heavenly Sword and total use in Flow were amongst the new things offered by SixAxis. I have an import DS3 so I get the best of both worlds. But SixAxis is a great feature imo and certainly not a White Elephant.....

yeah, this is a kind of a two sided deal. When it comes to RPGs reviews can't be trusted and that's the simple fact of the matter. A good-solid RPG rarely gets a score of 7.5 or higher. So for RPGs it's easy to look at a mainstream review of 7.5 and figure it's actually a pretty solid game. Which is why when I want to read a good RPG review I rely on Play Magazine or an RPG exclusive website... But RPGs are generally rated real low...

When it comes to most any other genre a score...

Prinny dOOd!! Lol... can't wait. Glad to see that NISA finally got around to announcing something. And you can bet they'll have it localized by August. They're great and timely when it comes to localizing their games... Can't wait. Too bad 08 is shaping up to be like 07 though, way too many games to be dropping $60 a pop on. ;)

well... it is a hand held game, not a console release. Not to even mention the limited disc space and details that went into GoW:CoO. I mean seriously, did anyone actually expect a 8-12 hour GoW title on PSP? imo this a very reasonable length for a PSP title considering its genre.I haven't got much use out of my PSP but it seems to me most of these games are considerably short compared to their console counterpart.

Anyway, who cares? It's a kick ass game and at the end of the da...

exactly... I'm surprised this got approved. Perhaps if it was selling Persona 3 Fes then yes. But Atlus games are Rare. Most of us know this. And the fact of the matter is that you are more than likely not going to be able to find a copy of Persona 3 at any local store. Even online it's hard to come by new and at the few places you might find it they're probably still asking $10+ on the original MSRP... Maybe I should sell my sealed copy and just wait for Fes. ;)

"The time has come for the games industry to open its doors to all game creators..." Yet MS has a annual fee of $99 for the XNA. At first the idea sounded cool to me. Then I realized all the aspects of it, and fact MS wants $99 annually just to allow people to create games.

My question is. How many units are actually in homes? With such a high failure rate on the 360 and so many people buying 2, 3 even 4 or more consoles it makes me wonder how many are actually out there, in homes, in working condition. Certainly a number MS doesn't care about because the more sold ...

Agreed... some games use SixAxis quite nicely. Flow was great, the controls in Heavenly Sword were awesome... And I loved the Ninpo attacks in Ninja Gaiden Sigma. Though somewhat trivial it beat button mashing to charge up the Ninpo attacks... Rainbow Six Vegas Snake cam was kinda cool as well... Uncharted did seem tacked on but at the same time it did in fact work and provide a different method to do the same ole trivial task of balancing across...

And lets not forget. The DS3 i...
