Major releases do. Remasters not so much
"Huh? I never mentioned Sony the publisher specifically I’ve been saying PS4 the platform this entire time. Why would I talk about a publisher when gamers play the entire library of games on a given platform?"
You realize that the article is talking about the company Nintendo not just the Switch platform, correct? Hence why it's "Move over SONY, NINTENDO is set..." not "Move over PS4, Switch is set...". This is why I'm considering publi...
Sorry, I meant to say hardware sales. Not software sales. Also, I believe Nintendo is the best selling publisher of this year again in several territories (including America and Japan).
"Idk why you’d ignore those important points if interest to still insist Switch is the dominant system."
How can you say that Sony is dominating 2019 when they aren't a better selling publisher, their titles don't hold a higher average rating, they aren&...
@Brett
I never said anyone is going to "run to Nintendo". What are you even talking about?
Also, how immature of you to start a rebuttal with an insult. Seriously, grow up.
I’m not disregarding software sales. But Its interesting that you think greater software sales outranks greater software sales, more exclusives, more software, greater amount of quality titles, etc. what sense does that make?
Switch literally wins in all other elements aside from overall game sales, which is completely understandable given the install base difference
@Fallen
I’m not disregarding software sales, but that’s literally the only element where PS4 has the advantage. So we will cast away hardware sales, greater amounts of software, higher quality software and exclusive software for one facet? Doesn’t make much sense to me
@S2
"But to claim that switch can really be a stand alone console to satisfy a person for the entire generation is just false."
To say it can't is also false. I really enjoy portable consoles. I have one every generation. The Switch could absolutely satisfy me for an entire generation, just like the 3DS could have the generation before, or the PSP before that.
" Looking at the entire library, they are not comparable....
@Fallen
"Even if you want to use Metacritic there’s still not an overwhelming amount of 2019 games on Switch that you can’t play on PS4. You can’t “dominate” without that stipulation."
There are a lot of great exclusives that you can't play on the PS4 either. I mean, that's part of why I put the publisher score out there too. So far Nintendo has published more titles and higher rated titles than Sony has.
"So it ...
@rob-GP
"There are hundreds of games which aren't on Metacritic due to having less than four reviews or no reviews at all"
You really think that the PS4 get's more lesser known titles than the Switch? I mean, the Switch is becoming the go to place for just about all indie developers.
@Father
"Most"
-See, that's just inaccurate.
@shawshankred
Many? Maybe. Some? Definitely. If you want to tally it up you can, the counting of each game was arduous enough as it is for me lol
As it stands though, out of all three consoles the Switch is set to have more games, more quality games, more quality exclusive games, and more sales this year.
So far, based on Metacritic, Nintendo Switch has received 150 titles and Playstation 4 has received 148 this year. Switch seems to have more titles rated good this year, and less titles that are mixed or poor. I believe that Nintendo has a higher average Metacritic score as a publisher too.
Breaking down the numbers;
Switch
Good: 76 titles
Mixed: 72 titles
Poor: 2 titles
Nintendo Publish Average: 77.7 (out of 11 games)...
@Tross
The Wii U was sold at a time when Nintendo was still trying to get a handle on HD development. Nintendo has produced far more interesting and highly rated software for the Switch in the same time period as the Wii U, and that's without including the ports of Wii U games.
Because their games are fun. That's the reason. They are the only company that sells consoles based on first party games alone. Not to say other first party games aren't system sellers for other platforms, but there are other reasons to get those consoles too, like media or third party content, or ecosystem, etc.
I’ve had this issue on two Joycons. One was fixed by Nintendo for free (luckily), and the other one I haven’t tried to get fixed yet. I think I’m going to try to do it myself, and maybe put a proper d-pad in it too.
Why did you lose hype when they went exclusive to Nintendo? Some really good entries were on those platforms. The reason why Monster Hunter Tri moved to Wii and not PS3 was due to high development costs.
It still has motion control.
I thought there idea to add scrollers was a good one. Would have worked wonders in BotW, honestly.
Battery life and build quality. Aside from that, it’s a pretty great controller. Though I personally prefer a-symmetrical sticks I know it’s a preference thing.
It does have the best dpad this gen too.
Okay, he includes things like random death sounds, cursors, random title screens, and title screen effects.
Only two things they mentioned I would actually classify as “content” or “features”. Most of the things missing are just Easter eggs.
Talk about what it adds though...Mario Maker 2 adds so much more in the way of actually content
DS got a huge boost from its lite version. Switch’s lite version is a couple months away.
Who knows, it could end up getting a huge boost.
