I disagree with used games being removed. What these devs are forgetting is that the person who originally buys the game, no longer has it when they trade it in. This is just like a car or most other property. Also, removing the used games market has some negative effects on sales because many people may be less willing to pay full price for a game if they know they cannot trade it in. However, if used games were removed entirely, it would help reduce piracy levels as well. It is not that exp...
It happened to Sega. I know Sony is much bigger but they're in trouble financially. I don't think it will happen but if next gen doesn't go better for them, it could.
I disagree that breaking cover is a bad thing. Actually, without it, UC3 would not be near as fun. Its boring just staying behind cover and picking off enemies, popping up up, getting shot and staying down until your health regenerates and rinse and repeating. I think enemies could have been smarter when getting up close but no game's ai is perfect. Actually, its what's lacking in most games. I'm glad to hear they're putting a lot of effort into ai for The Last of Us. That gam...
I fear that Sony may drop console manufacturing and make multiplatform games instead. They need to get their marketing in order and their next gen platform performance will either make them or break them.
My Fiance is called Psn so I'm pretty pissed off right now!
This is this dev's first game. Holy hell what an achievement and I will honour them by purchasing it on Steam tuesday.
Assassin's Creed is not a proper open world game. There are loading times between big areas where the game makes a transition for the player. For example, in AC2, can't travel directly to Venice. The boat journey is a loading time. For a game to be a proper open world game, a loading time must only be an entrance to a building or a city from directly outside the building or city. Also, the layout of AC2's world is quite linear as in there is only one route to take to get from Flor...
I've said it so many times on this site that the PS3 is the best console this gen. I don't like fanboys of any console or of anything but for heaven's sake, with the amount of great exclusives the PS3 has and The Last of Us coming this year, how can one not want a PS3? If you haven't played the Uncharted series, you're not a gamer imo. I don't care what console you have, get a lend of of friend's PS3 and play the UC games because they're just outstanding. I lik...
My preferable console is the PS3 but PS3 fanboys need to admit that the 360 has sold more worldwide than the PS3. These figures don't lie. Don't put it down to the rrod or the PSN hacks. The rrod issue was resolved with the slim. Be objective and not biased towards one console. Sony have not done well business wise this gen and MS are beating them in that regard so far. The PS3 is the better console imo but clearly more people want a 360 for whatever reason.
I've no doubt Res 6 will be a fun game but will it be a horror game like the old games or level based and just full of action? I want backtracking, puzzles, a creepy atmosphere, gross enemies, limited ammo, no main campaign co-op, moving and shooting, few very linear parts and no levels. They can have whatever co-op they want once it's not in the main campaign. Meet these demands Capcom or I will kill the hostages! Woah, I think I've just confused my passion for the Res series wit...
People think that these companies don't take the reactions of gamer's into account. They have management accountants and financial strategists who use complex technical business finance and management accounting methods to work out what business moves are optimal. These account for the expected fan reactions. Everything translates into money once it has value. Companies who are good to their fans are only being good to their fans because its beneficial. Companies who are not good to s...
I'm very hyped by this game but the problem is, can ND live up to the hype. I think they will but there's always a risk for any studio when trying something new and innovative. I like how the characters are not stereotypical. I didn't want simple characters but complex ones that some people will love and some will hate and others will love them in some ways and hate them in others. This isn't Uncharted. It's not fun and games. ND are aiming to tell a deep captivating story...
Is this a joke? I love Mass Effect's universe but how canwe take it seriously if Bioware are going to be adding journalists as characters? I've nothing personally against the girl but if she wants to be a part of games, she can do a computer science degree and learn to program like I did. However, people saying she isn't good looking are ridiculous. If we banged her, we'd be high fiving strangers on the night bus!
Well its my favourite game this gen so far and by far. I'm not the only one who loved it. Just look at its Metacritic average. Of course Playstation fanboys disliked it because it was the first GTA since GTA II to not be a timed exclusive on a Playstation console and the fact that it had timed exclusive dlc on 360 can the fact that it was in sub-hd on PS3. Therefore fanboys, or idiots as I call them, will be biased. Other people look at the absence of planes and countryside but forget to ...
When the franchise gains popularity, old fans will force themselves to believe the older titles were better to annoy newer fans. I've played the Elder Scrolls since Daggerfall and Skyrim is definitely the best one imo. Morrowind had dull environments and clumsy combat. It was still a great game but not as good as Skyrim. Though I do miss the freedom of Morrowind, being able to kill anyone you choose once strong enough.
The whole gameplay needs an overhaul. It is not fun in single player with the reversal system the way it is and it is too laggy online. Animations and graphics are good enough but the gameplay is not.
You can collect monsters which is meant to be the most fun part of the game. I think that's better than bad summons in XIII and XII which were mostly useless. Though I do agree that it doesn't feel like an FF game but at least its only a "2" and not a main instalment like XIII was. Versus XIII will either save or bury the franchise it seems.
Firstly, this is the only 5/10 review I've seen. Most are s and 9s. Secondly, people love to hate this game. XIII wasn't a great FF game but I think its a great game on its own merits. Thirdly, XIII-2 adds more freedom and improves combat and combat is the most important part of a game. The story is a let-down and that's why its getting 8s and not 9s in most reviews.
I'm not saying I agree with the direction the FF series has taken but can someone tell me what...
80/100 is good. People look too much into scores. Its only an opinion.
People get so bogged down on a 7.5. A 7.5 by Gamespot isn't so bad. They gave Fable 3, Killzone 3 and Infamous 2 a 7.5. If you want an rpg with great combat and great customisation, get it. If you want a great story (which few games have) and brilliant dialogue and characters, look elsewhere.
