If only the PS3 could play games you would be all set.. Right now all you have is potential.
Do people really care about using their console as a movie player. I have never once used my console for a DVD player, I choose a higher quality stand alone, or in my case a 400 disk DVD changer. I guess to you sonybots blu-ray is really important to you because that's all the PS3 has going for it. no games to talk about only blu-ray, and all the potential for playing games.

for our fellow sonybots. At least they have some good news, and something to look forward to. They need to feel that they have something for thier $600. I think they are tired of talking about game potential.

why would someone pay $600 for a movie player that isn't even a standard yet, that you can't do anything else on but talk about the potential to play games. When you can spend $400 and have a great game machine.

Funny how the gamming sites have all these discussions about blu-ray and HD-DVD. Since all the sony fans bought a $600 movie machine that doesn't have any good games this is all they have to talk about. For them blu-ray must win because so far that is all the machine is good for. I couldn't care less untill there is a clear winner, I guess this is because i have a 360 and have games to play.

Because since the PS3 is unable to be a effective games machine, this is the only last hope sonybots have left. Sonybots wouldn't care about blu-ray or HDDVD if they had great games to play.
Why would xbox fans be angry? We have games and you have a blu-ray player with the potential to play games. I mean how long can you go on talking about potential. You must work for Sony.
PS3 has been Released and all Sonybots have to talk about is blu-ray and the potential for games.
Dual format player..... But you will still be stuck with tons of movies if one format wins and you choose the wrong side.
When the time comes and there is a winner then they will stop making dual format drives. So if your player ever breaks you will be stuck with betamax movies and nothing to play them on.
With these dual format players will just cause the format wars to last longer.
You don't need to buy a HD DVD add on drive for the 360. only if you want to watch HD-DVD movies on your console. It would be smarter to wait till there is a clear winner. So with the 360 out of the box you can play HD games. with the PS3 if you want HD you need to purchase a cable.

Out of the box the 360 is a better value since the PS3 does not include HD cables the graphics on the PS3 are not going to look very good.

The PS3 was made as a Blu-ray player first, gaming machine second. Sony knows their fanboys will buy the machine based on name alone, and they can get blu-ray into millions of house holds. If sony did not put a blu-ray player into the PS3 they could have made a awsome machine. They could have added things that mattered to games such as adding more memory, they could have added 1gb of memory for example. Maybe a better graphics chip or even dual graphics chips. Or lowering the price. But inste...
so.... your saying that PS3 games are a waste of money. then why buy a PS3 if there are no good games for it... please don't tell me your buying it for potential!

Sony knows their fanboys will love and defend anything sony tells them. This allows them to focus on blu-ray and not games. Now the fanboys always talk about watching movies on their console never talk about the great games.
But it does have potential to play games.

The PS3 isn't a console it is a blu-ray player. If you want a game console get a 360.
