Blu-ray and HD-DVD has nothing to do with gamming, but we get a lot of stories on those.

Cable is better then wireless if you had the choice.

802.11a, or 802.11g are both 25 - 54Mbit/s

802.11a uses the 5 GHz band so it might have less interference as opposed to the 802.11g that uses the 2.4GHz band.

An Investment? They are all game machines. In time prices for the wii, PS3 and 360 will be lower. Then in 5 years there will be Wii2, PS4, and XBox 3, and the other machine will be worthless. If your buying a PS3 for blu-ray, or the 360 HD add on. If you want a few years when there is a format winner, you will be able to get a blu-ray or HD-dvd player for $100.00. I don't know about anyone else but i buy a game machine to play games and do not think of it as a investment. Doesn't anyone under...

If you wait , when there is a clear format winner then HD /blu-ray players will be cheap. Kind of like you can buy a DVD player for $50.00 now. So when you say that buying a PS3 because it is a cheap blu-ray player is a good idea, i would have to disagree. Also depending on who wins the format war you might be stuck with a lot of worthless movies. best to wait.

Agree with #1 there should be very little or no lag on a LAN connection.

Movie players wern't ment to be game machines. Why oh why sony did you force blu-ray on us!

6913d ago 1 agree5 disagreeView comment

Maybe the PS3 is in the movie section being used to display blu-ray movies, because there are no good games that would make someone want to purchase a PS3 over a 360.

6913d ago 0 agree1 disagreeView comment

Only because there are no games on the PS3 yet.

Wonder if sony is holding back the development of great games for the PS3 so they can push blu-ray.

6916d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

How come sony doesn't give away a game! Sony is pushing blu-ray more then games.

When they said they can sell the PS3 with no games they weren't kidding. The PS3 was built around playing blu-ray movies.

I buy a game console to play games not watch movies. Nintendo understands this and that's why they are doing so well. Other then blind sony loyalist who want blu-ray now.

but at least the ps3 has blu-ray. if you want to play games get a 360, if you want a blu-ray player get a ps3. or you can wait and get a blu-ray player when they are $100.

maybe this is the 4d sony was talking about

sony knows the fanboys don't care because they have brand loyalty.

No i ment $100 when the time comes and a format wins the players will be mass produced and will be selling for $100 or less. like DVD players are now. They will not be $1,000 for ever just because a PS3 cost $600. Maybe in your sony fanboy logic world.

having lots of blu-ray movies is better then having lots of great games with your game console. Do you work for sony?

6919d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

Wouldn't it be nice if sony was able to get this many games out. All these movies and still no games. Sony spends all this money on blu-ray and not on exclusive, keeping the exclusives they have or getting new exclusives. Even if blu-ray wins the format war, where does this leave sony, with a $600 player and when you can buy a stand alone player that is much better for $100. The PS3 sales are based on blind company loyality which can only hurt the PS3 and sony in the long run.

...

The system with the best games will win, right now that is 360. For $200 more the system better look a whole lot better. Right now it doesn't. No matter what a fanboy thinks, unless these things change sony will not be number one. no one cares about blu-ray.

I wish sony would put as much into games as they do blu-ray.

Your the one who is a fanboy... that fact that you get so angry because someone questions your precious blu-ray and PS3. Where are the games then? If you care about games then way such a fanboy for blu-ray.

6923d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

I bought a console to play games and games only! The PS3 fans are fooling themselves and are falling for all this. How many here would care for blu-ray or be rapid blu-ray fanboys if it wasn't included into the PS3. And the sad part that they don't even see is that it is taking away from the PS3 as a game machine. All this focus on blu-ray everyone has forgtten about the games.

6923d ago 2 agree2 disagreeView comment

the difference is that To include Blu-Ray it increased the cost of the console by $200.00.

In your example it would be like a cell phone company that charged you an extra $200 for your phone for a camera weather you wanted it or not. And all cell phone companies did this so you did not have a choice of a phone without it.

If Sony was able to keep the price down to $400 or less with blu-ray then fine.

Quote: "mean blue ray players are going for $1000 and you can get that and a PS3 for $600."

Why is it that the only reason to get a PS3 is for a cheap blu-ray player. I thought the PS3 was supposed to be a game machine.

When people talk about the 360 they talk about the AAA games, awesome online service. The PS3....well it has blu-ray.

Maybe this is why the system isn't selling. Doesn't this look like it could be a problem for sony.

?

That is because there is nothing else to do on the PS3, after the hype dies down, blu-ray movie sales will drop. Most people are not interested in buying into a format until there is a clear winner.

I have never once watched a DVD on my console, why put so much wear and tear on your console. Besides i have a 400 disk DVD changer, why would i want to use my 360 console. As long as it doesn't affect games. They should fix the problem though
