A small $ 10 price hike would have been acceptable. I don’t think it’s right to so aggressively push people towards gamepass ultimate. Frankly I don’t care too much about gamepass. Their a good amount of games in the service. Many of the games in gamepass I simply don’t care about nor have any interest playing. Dumping first party games into gamepass, might have been a mistake.
“At this point, PlatinumGames needs to give us something on Metroid Prime 4.”A more correct statement would be : “At this point, PlatinumGames needs to give us something on Bayonetta 3.”
The quality standards for open-world games have risen.
While I’m enjoying Cyperpunk 2077 on my series X. I can’t help but feel the game could have been so much more if patients wasn’t overtaken by greed. It’s too bad the higher ups at CDPR got so overconfident due to the success Witcher, whilst also being oblivious to the concerns of their staff.
EA’s Star Wars exclusivity deal must of been renegotiated awhile back without being publicly disclosed.
I like the idea of selling rubber removable sleeves for the PS5 side panels. I myself would love a PlayStation 5 with blue side panels. Unfortunately, PS5s are extremely difficult to come by at RSP where I live.
I don’t think it would be too hard to simply take the sides off a PS5 and spray paint them black.
One person can’t determine the top 10 greatest RPGs of all time. This is nothing more than a list of one’s own personal favourite RPGs.
@curtain_swoosh. Sony will retain the film rights [which were granted to them before Disney bought Marvel] as long as they produce a Spiderman film every 5 years. However, right now Spiderman films are co-developed with Disney ( via Marvel Pictures). Disney can produce [and or license] Spiderman animated series, comics, merchandise, etc. without Sony's involvement. Also,Disney licenses out the rights for Marvel-related games.
@ boyyzackk no, it’s true. Sony only owns film and game licenses for Spiderman. Disney owns the IP ( as it’s part of Marvel). Why do you think Disney controls the rights to Spiderman merchandise?
Spiderman [and associated characters] are owned by Disney.
COG connected would have never taken off without Raycevick, who I’m certain no longer contributes to the site. COG connected has been writing junk articles for a while now.
There were a lot of reviewers that gave high scores to Death Stranding despite criticizing its gameplay and pacing. It’s almost like some critics just gave the game free and extra praise for being made by Kojima.
Nintendo keeps pushing Wii ports and remasters/“remasters” of older tiles due to profitability. I still find Bayonetta 3’s development concerning.
It’s been 3 years. AAA titles that aren’t large RPGs or Open World games typical have development cycles of about 3 years. Platinum likes to work on multiple games at once despite not being too large of a studio.
Not much of an update. It’s been 3 years since Bayonetta 3’s announcement; the lack of a gameplay reveal or in-engine trailer is concerning.
I can understand why things got cut. A lot of content and planned features get cut during development without being disclosed. However, if Keanu Reeves was added to the game in 2018 [or possibly earlier]. I don’t think his addition would hugely change the design of the game’s world or overall story.
I don’t think so. Stories are planned years in advance, high fidelity cutscenes take a lot of planning and resources. Blaming Keanu Reeves for Cyberpunks issues is a big reach. Firstly, he’s not a developer. Reeves is also known for not be overly demanding
When it comes to salary.
Cyberpunk 2077 went into full development in 2016. It had 4 years of full development. Red Dead Redemption 2, Horizon Zero Dawn had longer dev cycles and released in much more polishe...
Most of the games listed could be considered western style RPGs. Prey and Deus Ex are both cyberpunk-themed immersive sims. Cyberpunk 2077 has immersive sim elements. Fallout 4 and Outer Worlds are both first person RPGs, just like Cyberpunk 2077 as well.
Whilst Cyberpunk 2077 was announced in 2012, it never start full development until 2016. It wouldn’t be wrong to question whether or not the XB1/PS4 were ever the actual target hardware. Cyperpunk 2077 only runs well on the PS5 and Series S/X due to raw hardware power and fast memory. High end PC was must of always been the hardware target, and the tile was poorly scaled down to last gen consoles.
