Glad to see the updated version with the much needed 3G support. Now I might actually consider this beautiful device :)
Unfortunate but true: I totally agree with that... and to be honest I think Microsoft would as well if it wasn't as bad for their marketing.
It was a nice try but apart from a bit improved security (or so they say) it came with piles of issues as well (including sub par performace).
Good that they are planning to support it for at least that much longer!
The World Wide Invitation 2008 in Paris officially kicks of on Saturday so its most likely we will see the first official screening then ;)
I agree with you to some extend. I don't want it to be a World of Warcraft with Diablo textures either. I think they are more then likely going to make sure it is differentiates enough from World of Warcraft in style of play. As to how that would work I don't have a clue really... Should it be instanced like the original with random enviroments? YES, that is part of what made Diablo... Diablo really :)
Features from Wow I would like to see are customizable GUI and ehm... the larg...
Don't forget to submit them since they will be attending the WWI 2008 in Paris (not me unfortunately) and go up and personal with the Blizzard crew!
Good question, and its more likely then ever that they might consider this after they fused with Activision. However I think that if this is an option for them that even they don't know yet if it can and/or will be ported to the consoles.
Blizzards' roots are in the console business and they have ventured there a few times more after they released Warcraft: Orcs & Humans. This without to much succes unfortunately :( The latest example beeing Starcraft: Ghost...and we all kn...
Duke was always an outlaw under the outlaws. Raw and non-censorced. I wonder if this thing ever comes out if they are going to honor this awesome concept!
Blizzard are good, very good at making games and everything that comes with it, but they clearly excel at hype-ing. I don't even know what this is all about yet and I want to have to now already!
Very sweet, can't wait to hear what it is!
I had read about the improvement bug :P (gotta give the critter a name right?) but it is nice to see it explained in detail. Bugs improving the game is not something you hear to often ;)
Everytime I see more cool features/details I ask myself the same question. Its taking long, really long...Hell Tychus, fill me in!
Every time I see this game I wonder what else they are planning to do to it before they feel it to be good enough for even a closed alpha. The game is looking so amazing already and the end of the development process is still clouded in dust.
While I do not really understand this move by Blizzard I don't see a reason not to do it either. It makes levelling even easier in the lower segment and for the set amount of 35G it will be almost to easy to get. All in all a positive change I think, but I would love to the the motivation behind a move like this.
@2.7: I don't think they have done alot to change the space required for them, but they did give the Supply Depots the ability to drop into the ground so your (and the enemy) ground based units can move over them. This on itself should help you at least a bit on the space issue.
This patch seems to hold quite a few things in preparation for Wrath of the Lich king. Also good to see that rogues are getting a moderate (what looks to be) nerf.
@1.2: That would be a possibility if they actually had a mind of their own. However from what I understand broods, for as far as they actually have a will of their own, are beeing controlled by some kind of overseer such as the queen or her cerebrates (in the past that is).
I think the practical problem with this is how to clearly show that an invested Zerg is your invested Zerg ;) And probably some balance issues I fail to see.
I can't wait for this game to be released!
This game looks weird but seems to be a lot of fun to play around with. Just wondering though: what can you do with your custom creature after creation?
This editor seems to be a toy we are going to see beeing used a lot more in the future for sure :) I have seen so much of them already and the tool is only out for a few days.
So for those who tried it out: is it hard to make something of reasonable quality with this piece of software?
@2.1 I am afraid you are right about that one, whatever the announcement might be.
