I think the PS3 might not be the console megahit they had hoped for, but it was the sole reason they managed to beat HD-DVD.
Its the opposite for me. I really hate those console exclusives. I haven't bought a console since the SNES and I don't want a console just for 1 or 2 games I would love to play.
It would be nice if they would find a way to actually keep the remains of a unit or structure that has been blown to pieces in the game without a performance hit.
Although I think the style is a bit weird/childish I do love the concept! I hope this game is going to be everything and more they claim it will be.
He was a bit more nervous then most game devs, but I guess we can't blame him :) I wonder if this scares game devs or attracts them like flies..
What can I say... Can it be more obvious that sex sells? Its a positive format so I like it :)
Nice, I watched the BWWI 2008 stream and enjoyed it quite a bit. I really see this kind of webcasting explode in the near future!
Now, if only it could walk and follow you around! Nice design.
The Sara system is where it all starts. It seems that although Mar Sara has been nuked into oblivion, the player is going to return to this work to scour it from its resources :)
I think its more then time that they start a project to update their forum software. The part I don't understand is how this works with the whole cd key thingy in place? Are there spammers buying big numbers of keys just to be able to spam the forums?
The question is pretty obvious, its the same reason that keeps most companies from reaching a decent quality level with their games: lack of time.
These days developers have to release the game almost simultaneous with the movie no matter what the current state is. This makes it very hard to keep the level high and finish in time.
While it was to be expected this spore hype keeps amazing me (and making me laugh)! So could anyone tell me what the state of the game itself is? And why you can do with your own creatures in it other then showing them off in youtube movies?
I really do not understand this discussion. Why does everyone seem to think that it is dying? I know some major developers have been eaten by the console war however, the PC as a platform has so much more potential then the consoles ever have.
Fact is that way more people have a PC then a console. It seems to me this is more of a publicity spin off thing someone in the console industry invented to draw people in.
The PC clearly isn't without problems: it faces a huge...
For Blizzard game play is one of the few cornerstones of their core development philosophy. It worked out perfectly for them. However, this does NOT mean that graphics are not important.
With gameplay as cornerstone, graphics are still an element with which one can either improve or degrade the quality of a game. Where gameplay makes it fun, graphics, sounds, or even story determine the character of the game. This is of a variable importance depending of the game type, but for a ...
@3.1: did you know that they used to do so in the past? I think the last game they did this with was... Diablo 2.
Edit: just checked it. Blizzard put up a release date for Diablo 2 in my Starcraft cd cover. Its not exact to the date it says: expected in 1998 :) We all know what happened next: the game was released in June of the they 2000! Its probably better the way it is now: no promises.
I am posting here for a while now, but I have no clue what you mean by "open zone"... would you, or anyone for that matter, explain to me what you are talking about?
Well, that depends on how you define "before" the game. I think its quite likely that they will make it available with the beta. The only thing is, is that I am not sure if they did so with the Warcraft 3 beta, I would have to dig up that cd.
I think that it is very likely that the game will at least go into beta before the year ends, which would mean a release somewhere in the first quarter of 2009. This is by no means official of course... see it more as an educated guess ;)
I am sure its not, this is just part 2 of the series. I am even pretty sure that this is the single biggest, most information packed Starcraft 2 related article on the net!
That probably has something to do with their main development philosophies: Fun game play and easy to get into, but hard to master.
