Yeah, I think the reasons stated in the article [Dry Month and a dour year for video games] seem fair as well as us humans seem to be influenced greatly by "hype" and the more hype there is, the more likely we are to purchase before learning more about it.
This game was heavy marketed, lots of media attention, and a lot of social networking… Seems we fall for that a lot [Titan Fall, Watch Dogs, Knack].
From what Yarbie1000 and Ziggurcat posted, it reads kinda like Microsoft has a deal for this game to make it exclusive, but they didn't buy the IP so they have no control what is done after the duration of the contract is over...
So, does that mean that Crystal Dynamics can release the game on PS4, after the duration of the contract, under a different name such as "Rise Of The Tomb Raider Super Duper PS4 edition"?
Has anyone said anything about new game engines built specificly for DirectX 12? The reason I am asking is wouldn't there be a need for new engines in order for DX12 to actually make a difference?
Oh, I am sure Sony has a few surprises on the way... Microsoft, I am sure does also.
Sadly, no new information...
yeah, trolling... but, I still found that funny.
...aaaah... and the world righted itself again. Gas prices have fallen and the PS4 is the best selling system again.
"While annoying, its just one of the possibilities being in the preview program" Which is why I don't help out. I don't get to play that often and when I do get to play a little I don't want to have the potential to spend time trying to get the XBO working instead of gaming.
While saying that, I sure would like to thank everyone who is part of the preview program to make sure the updates are working well before I download them. I appreciate all of yo...
Maybe it will be set in West VA in the 1920s, and you will run Moonshine from WV to Atlantic City, Chicago, and the like. Yeah, I think that would be fun.

This is cool too! I am getting excited for this.
"After I put on the headset, an electrician pops up on a screen that floats directly in front of me. With a quick hand gesture I’m able to anchor the screen just to the left of the wires. The electrician is able to see exactly what I’m seeing. He draws a holographic circle around the voltage tester on the sideboard and instructs me to use it to check whether the wires are live. Once we establish that they aren’t, he walk...
Just noticed, the lens have three layers to create RGB images... nice.
To create Project HoloLens’ images, light particles bounce around millions of times in the so-called light engine of the device. Then the photons enter the goggles’ two lenses, where they ricochet between layers of blue, green and red glass before they reach the back of your eye. “When you get the light to be at the exact angle,” Kipman tells me, “that’s where all the magic comes in.”
ahhh, I see now.

"Illumiroom condensed"
I had not thought of it like that. All I could see was another google glass, but the way you put it makes it exciting.
I used to play a LOT of Rock Band... had several Rock Band Nights full of drinking and playing with friends. But, the newness wore off after a while and no one, other than myself, wanted to play...
Since I bought it to co-op with friends in the same room, I stopped playing also. Ended up with 1018 songs and just lost the desire to play.
I doubt a new Rock Band game will bring that desire back.
...So, kinda like Google Glass, but for gaming?
No, that is a savings of $60 for minor tweeks of the game...
I just wish they released the game every two years instead of yearly...
...hmmm, a first person shooter vs a third person shooter... I have only played the first release of both games and never understood the hype behind them. But, then again, I am not much of a multi-player kinda person so half of the appeal of the games is lost on me.
I like my shooters with a little RPG mixed in, ala Mass Effect... I don’t think there is an XBO exclusive of this type coming any time soon, but I could be mistaken on that…
Wow, that is unexpected and a little exciting... I wonder what kind of "missions" it will have:
"...featuring cars and missions inspired by Universal Pictures' 'Fast & Furious' film series"
