They should have PS/Xbox icons to identify which network somebody is on, and they should have a friends list where you can add 5-10 people from the opposite network. Functions would be more limited, and obviously you couldn't join every game, but it would be nice.

We've already got a ton of gameplay videos and the demo, alongside vXIII and initial XV footage. I doubt the cast is going to evolve from the mindless juvenile metalcore/hunting brocrew into a fully fledged FF cast overnight. It just isn't happening.

Agreed, FF has lost sight of what made the series so great-

I'm going to be honest with you, I hope you're correct and the game isn't just a metalcore aesthetic. Problem is, we just haven't seen anything proving otherwise yet. Actually not a single line is from the original game, even "Not interested" was only an NPC response and never on the bombing mission. "I don't care about your politics" is brand new. Every other line in the trailer is brand new. They're definitely phasing out the game's ideologues in favor for apoliticalism to tone it down, which I'd rather not see.
What bothers me is FF has lost sight of what made the series great.
FFVII- Touched on Corporatism, Ecology, Identity, in meaningful ways. The entire 1st disc could be seen as a euphemism for 90's US Democratic politics and it's theme stays true to today. In no way was this game empty. AVALANCHE's goals were pure and true.

I'm all for low power parts, and it's only 65 watts
Waiting on a 16/14nm gpu in June to really complete the rig at low power. I'll just pick up the first that comes out with 4GB. GDDR5X or HBM doesn't matter to me, as I don't game extensively on PC.
I think the plateu hasn't really been hit yet... I mean there are gameplay choices that could really make an impact that devs just aren't focusing on because they're focused on graphics or money.

However the die shrinks only happen once every few years. AMD really just needs to collaborate with console producers when they get a meaningful update.
Now this year is abit special for AMD and they're going from 28nm to 14nm... This is big and consoles kinda need an update. An Xbox One S and PS4 S make sense, however doing this every year would be kind of stupid.

It's really simple what Xbox *should* do:
1- release an Xbox One S with 30% more power than PS4 to entice gamers for the rest of this gen.
2- release an upgradable Xbox 2 nex-gen with 2-3 GPU upgrade total for the rest of nex-gen. 4 TOPS(only if they fall behind Sony)
Do NOT mess up the rest of Gen 8 by going the PC/upgradable model route... It wouldn't even make any sense because the current model isn't upgradable, so they'...
If they do this I want to see a wireless PC setup I can use to play from PC onto my TV from another room, and a PC/Xbox(TV) switch on the controller.
I'll gladly give up the console box. Would be as simple as creating a wireless hdmi-passthrough for the graphics card and a new controller.
I really don't understand Nintendo. Yes, many are buying the system purely for Nintendo games, but if they came out with the MOST powerful system theyed also have so much 3rd party support it would be many gamers primary console. If they had a system as powerful as PS4 you'd see many gamers playing Nintendo next to CoD, BF, or JRPGS like Final Fantasy right on the same system as Mario/Zelda/Metroid/Starfox, and many of those gamers wouldn't even bother buying a PS4 or Xbox.
@Kalebninja They're downvoting you because the rumor is, the console IS a handheld. Hence, the hybrid handheld/console. Think like a severely oversized handheld, almost console-like with wireless hdmi-dongle to connect to the tv.
I for one, hate the idea of a handheld/console hybrid and hope they're two separate machines.
Well to be honest, Ninty 1st party games need less graphics because of their pronounced art style... an Xbox One level console will do well at 1080p(30/60)... And 4k isn't coming around to consoles for almost a decade...
So in terms of power, they're right about where they need to be...
I've gotta say though, it would have been far smarter to make the NX as powerful as PS4 instead of X1. They'd have some serious longevity, get all the best...

Unless they can get an online MMORPG going... Then it would be better to find them on screen. I'd really like to see a game with every region and multiple trainer parties. So much would have to be reworked, from element effectiveness(lesser, otherwise everyone would just keep switching pokemon), to finding Pokemon on screen, to quest availability. But a true Pokemon MMO would be soooo worth it. I'm still waiting on the day I can get a text messag...
360 had some of the best games last-gen... Gears got my sis to play games(now deceased), Lost Odyssey, Halo, graphics were better, controller arguably better than PS3's and online infrastructure nicer...

A 4k console may be overkill, but a console that could downsample 1440p60 to 1080p or upscale 1440p60 to 4k for all titles could be nice.
This would also give them the power for 90-120fps on VR. And they might be able to keep the same console dimensions once AMD moves to 14nm FinFet this year.
