Actually, since the game is already dynamic resolution, it would take advantage of the extra power by defaulting to the higher res, no patch needed.
Now improved AA, unlocked fps, or additional graphical tweaks would need a patch.
I'm just hoping the FFXV on PS4K gets the best AA solution and 1080p 30fps locked. Extra fps isn't always better for all games IMO.
Honestly not a fan of the frivolous materialistic shit. I'd rather see the story going on.
Eh, I really don't trust S-E with movies, FF:TSE, FFVII:AC both turned my interests down, and KG:FFXV just seems like more b-list level sci-fi. Overly materialistic, and in my view has a pretentious edge thus far.
Now Brotherhood FFXV was actually spirited and pretty good, Didn't need the flashy car, tech, or graphic even to convey it's message. I'll give this a whirl, but it seems like one of those things overly hyped. When they showed the techie-watch for ...
I'm thinking the new consoles will be slim revisions with 30-50% more power for 720/900p games to play at 1080p and for VR, 90fps. Add in 4k video playback and it's not really a huge upgrade. Especially for PS4 gamers. The lowest they play at is 900p anyway.
I fail to see how such a revision would split gamers.
looks like 1080p/AA would bring this game miles ahead in quality. I honestly think a filter to muddy the graphics a bit would help out with how bad the aliasing is.
@Disagree, seriously? A custom filter would do this game wonders.
That's what I said, those jaggies are out of this world. They should consider a custom scaler/filter for sure.
Seriously they should do a slim model on 14nm with ~30% more power. This would allow a few 900p games to be patched to 1080p(FFXV, BF, BF5, Paragon), and for VR to get the bump to 90fps. Every other game will be the damn same. Then add 4k video, 4k scaler, SATA 3 for those with SSD, and call it a day. It'll just be the new PS4 Slim. No biggie. Even price will be the damned same as a new console currently. $349.
Then PS5 can roll around in 2018-19 with 5x the power...
I'd also say 30% more power to patch 900p games to 1080p and allow higher framerate for VR also makes sense. It would be about the same price as a new console, allowing people to trade in and save.
Now 4k native gaming? Doubt it. 4 times the power is 4 times the cost. Count me out.
I don't think 4k gaming will even be the norm until PS6. I mean, AMD said their next console chips will be ready in 2018 and are 5 times more powerful. Moving to 4k would mean almost no power could be spent on better graphics. Staying at 1080p, and playing majority rules, will allow for the best graphics.
So I think PS5 will just be 1080p near perfection, and PS6 will be 4k and will come out once chips are available more than 5x the previous gen. Meaning PS5 will be anot...

4k video model with a 30-40% increase is the most likely upgrade. Just enough for 900p titles to be 1080p with a stable 30/60 fps, and for VR, 90 fps
I also hope they incorporate SATA III for those of us that want the most speed out of an SSD upgrade.
It'll still be slimmer than the current model, and @ ~$400($300 next year) would make sense.
Alot better than charging $1600-2000 for 4k.
I for one am hoping it's just a 4k video capable model with around 30-40% more power, Just enough to raise all of the 900p titles to 1080p and give a stable 30/60 fps, and for VR, 90 fps.
Lol PS4k will not be slim, it will be far bigger than the current model, EVEN if they use the new 14nm FinFet chips from AMD.
If anything, you'll have a choice between a much fatter PS4k, much bigger than the current model, and a PS4 slim once 14 nm is out.
PS4k will be bigger than Xbox One and [hopefully] smaller than PC in size. They might even make it a standalone unit because it'll be so big.
I always thought he was indifferent, not trashing the politics. I still think Nomura is pegging down politics a notch because they're so radical.
Some guys on Reddit had the same question, asking if Cloud 'seriously' said that. It may have been Nomura's way of saying, radical politics aside, the remake is getting made, or it may be that rather than being indifferent, Cloud is actively apolitical and taking it a bit further, trashing their politics. To me th...
Just a matter of taste I guess then, I disagree so far. I don't think the game is trashed but I feel its 8.5 level now. 'Whatever' would have been nicer to say than 'Not interested' IMO. To me there's a difference between indifference and trashing the politics.
I mean, I remember the original line "I don't care, I just want to finish this job before the Roboguards come". That painted him as a mercenary. Directly trashing the politics...
Being indifferent like in the old game, and directly trashing the politics in the new game, are two totally different things IMO. I'll leave my judgement for the e3 or next trailer, which might raise it back up to a '9', but '10' is a long stretch for now.
If Cloud doesn't continue DIRECTLY trashing AVALANCHE and Tifa turns out alright, and aerial battle mechanics work, I'll raise it to 9-9.5. Just seems so 8.5ish to me right now. I might be o...
Anyway, I'll leave that saying FFVII is my favorite, but I don't know if FFVIIR will compare.
FFVII was my first '10' game. Since politics are already getting toned down, FFVIIR has dropped to an '8.5'.
Final Fantasy VII was the first 'fantasy based on reality' IMO. Themes of Corporatism, Ecology, Identity, and liberalism(to the point where you were a terrorist) made the game the most mature, yet conveyed the message in a way that let you understand it as you got older. Kids could play for the anime influence, and adults can look back on it and still be learning new things about the game.
I think for the REMAKE Nomura is skewing the game away from politics now wit...
AMD already said nex-gen chips will be ready in 2018 and 5x as powerful as current gen. I don't think the console will be out until 2019 though.
I really see no problem with them releasing a slim revision console with 30-40% more power for 900p games to be increased to 1080p and for VR, 90fps, in late 2016/early 2017. In my opinion they're still going to wait until 2019 for PS5, and they'll still be the same power as AMD has stated.
PS4k will do...
