It’s called EVOLUTION (for some odd reason I am thinking about Korn).
In ten years the consoles will be dead, maybe the PC also. Combined into something else……..
Problems: Pirates, reselling of used games, extra money spent on packaging, waste, giving those greenbacks to a middleman (used and new), advertising.
All of these are cured by Digital Distribution.
Some of you might disagree about the advertising. If people ...
There are plenty games out there that have multiplayer.
There are a lot of games out there that shouldn’t have multiplayer, Dead Space is one of them.
I agree, this is why I joined the CoD MW2 boycott, besides the dedicated servers. $59.99 game for 5 hours of single player, the multiplayer is good (free Steam weekend). But there are other games that I own that I can play multiplayer. What these companies are going to do is write themselves a major loss in the future. Right now I only buy from the bargain bin. Bought MW2 this past weekend for $20.00 and Star Trek Online last weekend for $16.00 (both Ebay codes only), plus Supreme Commander 2...
Agreed! I might have to save my vacation time for this. Take off a week and lock myself in a room with nothing but a toilet and food/water, within arms reach.
Any place out there to give a demo of the 3d tech. I hate to blow my cash on something that might come and go like the 3DO.
Seriously, I have 4 gaming computers, so kind of expensive to buy everything needed.
Personally I don’t agree with any one reviewer. What I do is look at all the reviews and judge accordingly. The only reason I say this is because everyone is different and each person has their ups and downs. The same reasoning goes for any type of media. But when every reviewer is stating the same thing then you have a good consensus for that product. But good article, I didn’t know that these reviewers had different methods.
I like Prey and Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising, so I disagree. The others I haven't played.
I have no guilt...........
If they make good quality games, I can careless that they stick the COD title to it. Would it make people feel better that they just left the COD off and made their game? The only problem I have with them making so many FPS games is that they are going to split the player base in small fragmented communities. But that might be not such a bad thing.
The only reason I boycotted (still haven’t bought it) MW2 was because of the price and dedicated servers. Dedicated servers make ...
So when you buy a used car, you should pay Ford, Chevy, etc some cash?
What about a home?
What about anything used?
Sorry Jack, I support the companies that put out quality games. EA has done that in my opinion. When I buy that brand new game, EA is getting that money. When I sell that game, EA already got my money. I am getting a % of the money spent from my pocket, EA still has my money.
That money is for patches, content, online play all r...
I can careless, this is no different than when MW2 was a Steam only game. I have stated in the past that all companies will be doing this very thing themselves in the long run.
If I can install the client, run my game, and there is competition, I am happy.
I am a Supernatural fan, so this MMO interest me. Hopefully it will be better that the current and past MMO generations. If it is another grind fest, then I won't be playing. But I will continue to keep a eye out on this one.
I agree, however there are alot of idiots. The odd are in SOE favor.
I sold my Everquest 1 account for $300.00. By no means a ton of cash, but I was pissed and ready to quit. I sold 2 EQ2 characters for $500, combined, $200, for a 75 SK and $300 for a 75 Necro, both on the Sony Exchange store. Now they are now selling mounts for cash and they will make money off of them. Buying items like this has got to be the stupidest things I can imagine, but that is Capitalism for you, sucker born every minute.
And if they make money, they will spew out more...
I still haven’t bought MW2 (boycotter) but played it on Steam’s free weekend.
I don’t know which is worse. MW2 with their no dedicated servers or BF:BC2 with their no LAN play. However I did buy BF:BC2 because it is a better game, slower paced, but better. While MW2 is more fast paced and small mapped, but lacks in the other areas where BF:BC2 shines.
CO is one of the better MMO out there in my opinion. I played last night for the first time in awhile. There were a lot of people on so that is a plus. However I am so burnt out of MMOs, I believe that this one will be the last until, I read how good/bad SW:KOTOR is when released.
But I am glad they are adding additions to their game.
Another Console vs PC, blah, blah, blah article, I have read so many of these in the last 3 months, it blows my mind.
Let’s use our noggin for one minute.
If all developers left your favorite platform today, do you actually think that NO one will make games for your platform?
I bet ¾ of you own very few titles for your platform and have hundreds to play. You cannot play, buy or rent them all (beating them)
The only reason I lo...
I was playing the free trial this weekend on a vanilla game. There was a cheater in the game that shot me with a P90 from a very long distance. Several people left the match because of the cheater. Glad I never bought the game. But still don't see what is so bad about this guy making a mod.
Very good article. And the point being that if a pirate were to download all the PC games available, they would only play a very small amount. While the person who is going to buy the PC game will only buy a few, but play them for along time.
I have always stated that the Pirate was all smoke and mirrors.
I don’t see the point of them jacking the price up. I have learned to live with the idea of waiting for a game to come down in price. And I am not the only one who waits for DD to drop a game price.
And as I have said before many times before, if every dev left the PC , someone would take their place.
