You had it right at "This thing is going to FAIL".
No need for anything else.
I'm with you on this one.
Well I've used all three for several years now and Windows (unless you play PC games) is by far worse than OS X (In my opinion) and depending on how much control you want over your computer it's far worse than Linux. However, I understand those who prefer windows over Linux as linux does have it's own problems.
Not everyone just jumps on the M$ hate bandwagon... most people have good reason. Afterall it's M$ that's giving them good reasons.
COD 4 is an extremely linear game for starters... IW has said that they do NOT like open world, sandbox style gameplay and that they want their games to be heavily scripted and linear. It's debatable whether it looks better than GoW but IMO it certainly does not. But you can't honestly imply that if Infinity Ward was doing GTA that it would be 60fps if they were to make it the same look and openness as Rockstar is making it. You're kidding yourself.
Is it going to say "A Hideo Kojima Game" !?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
I couldn't care less about DLC (except multiplayer levels)... not just for this game, either. What comes on the Disc is the game. Everything else is simply an after-thought that's over-hyped. The GTA IV DLC will be one big "meh" and two days later everyone will be back to doing what they were doing originally -- playing the game that came on the disc to begin with. Just like 90% of all other DLC.
I'm baffled that GTA IV apparently has no concerns on fitting on a DVD 9 but MLB 2K8 DOES?
I guess it's not unbelievable to think that part of that 50 mil from M$ to rockstar was to ensure rockstar always forgot to mention the part of having to make LC smaller to fit on a DVD 9?
...Naaaa couldn't be.
the wii is dominating because it appeals to such a broad audience. Just because something appeals to such a broad audience doesn't necessarily make it superior. I agree shooters can get old... but the italian plumber and all the hundreds of spin-offs got old long before shooters.
Could it be because games are the only reason a lot of people (myself included) still have a copy of windows installed on that small, partitioned space?
Wow... go on thinking LBP all you want... you're gonna be disappointed. And spend a lot more money in the process.
Don't even compare the little flash games these XNA games will be to LBP.
doesn't it cost like $99 / year to do this whole "free" gaming thing?
M$ isn't shooting straight with it's consumers (imagine that!). First they said it was new missions (hence episodic content), then they said each episode will be approx 10 hours of gameplay. We all know VC and San Andreas at their core were more than 10 hours. Plus there's no way they'll be actual different games from IV... There'd be a lot of money to lose on both ends if they released a "New GTA" game only months after IV when a lot of people will still be having a blast with the...
M$ wants you to though. They want everyone to purchase bigger HDD because bigger HDD means more people will be ready to download HD media. You think this 50 mil spent on GTA IV content was JUST to please GTA IV fans? Hell no, they know this content will be huge and that most 20 gig HDD owners won't be able to fit it all on their HDD without deleting everything on it so they'll run out and buy up a $100 20gb HDD and guess what... more $$$ for M$.
There was another 2008? WHEn!?
Shouldn't Sony challenge M$ on weekly sales since the PS3 is dominating in that catagory?
Put out a horribly flawed piece of hardware, hey it happens. Not fixing the problem, only stretching it out and calling it fixed? Limiting your success rate on your system and you start lowering your sales. End of Story.
^Fixed.
Honestly that wouldn't surprise me. Sounds like something M$ would do.
Nice to see someone take some sort of stand against m$. Even if it may not have any real affect... still nice to see.
The 360 has some fantastic games... but the console is ****. Same can be said for most M$ products.
Metal Gear Solid 4
IMO
If you re-read my post you'll see where I said I've used all three for several years. I'm aware of why people may not like Linux, as well as compatibility issues and what-not. But if you've used linux within the last year or two you'd see a lot of those compatibility issues aren't there any more. Regardless, for those that understand Linux, they know of what it's capable of that Windows simply cannot touch. But again, like I said, I totally understand why people would prefer Windows over Linu...
