aka the sorry-your-mom-got-you-the-wro ng-console achievement.
when will gaming companies stop trying to make videos look hip and cool? Call it what it is. We can take it.
Guessing this 'deal' probably (realistically) has something to do with the time slot. Noon is probably a much easier deal to make than primetime. Also, unlike MS, sony knows their target audience and knows they'll be watching online.
PEOPLE! Hayter will voice young snake... which is why they needed to cast a new voice for big boss. It would be terribly weird with Hayter doing the voice of both. This isn't confirmed but I'd be willing to bet this is how it's happening.
AngelicIceDiamond, there is this thing called "track record" and when a company continuously makes poor decisions, it can lower expectations.
I think this is what will happen, personally.
They're clamoring for games in general though, right?
They're fumbling with the graphics in this obviously CG trailer, too. Doubt the ingame graphics will be anything better, either.
So MS won't force stuff on developers... only consumers. Got it.
I'm concerned they're putting a little too much emphasis on social. I don't want (another) social network. I want an amazing, realistic racing game. Racing games are fun multiplayer and with a friend, but majority of EVERYONE playing this game will be playing it solo, by themselves. That's still the best way to enjoy games IMO.
oh spank me hard and call me Rhonda. You, sir, are ridiculous.
I think they were wanting a natural voice for Snake, not some forced ruggedness like you get with Hayter's old man voice.
Completely agree. I love David Hayter, think he's an awesome guy. I'll always have good memories of MGS games but I'm totally fine with a voice actor who sounds like the character looks.
I think the problem was they were wanting Hayter to do a Sutherland type voice... and he can't. Snake is Kojima's character and if Kojima wants snake to sound more rugged (which hayter can't do naturall--very forced) then it's his call.
Because of what you just said... it'd be a tech demo. MS is great at tech demos. Gamers want games that are functional and not just tech demos.
They got paid for one copy, right... but if that one copy then goes to 12 more people over time and they don't see another dime from any of those 12 people, you don't think there's anything wrong with that? Not even a little?
These article titles piss me off. "Hating on it is the cool thing to do right now" ? A LOT of people genuinely have a problem with Microsoft and their overal approach to consoles right now. For most of us, this is an opinion that has formed as a result of the actions Microsoft have taken, tried to take or are planning to take. For most of us it has nothing to do with what's "cool" or "in" it's simply an opinion. Implying that people are hating on it beca...
Sony's strategy is good. There's a progression to hitting the mainstream. You don't come out of the gate swinging for everyone or you'll miss everything.
Wonder how many divorces this man has gone through.
"Why do people keep acting as if Microsoft is enforcing the DRM."
They ARE enforcing it through their very own console. 24 hour check-ins--what do you call that? A game only being able to be sold once--what do you call that? That's not the publishers doing, obviously.
