I'm not real familiar with this series but... isn't that kind of going against what makes this game loved by its fans?
There just isn't a point to 4K gaming... or 4K at all for that matter. Unlike phones or even computer monitors, you dont sit 2 feet from a 40 or 50" tv and therefore the naked eye just doesn't sense the added resolution. I have a macbook pro retina and playing diablo III at 2880x1800 honestly isn't noticeable unless you really put your face to your screen. The added resolution from 4K just isn't the same necessary leap that HD was and in the end will only drain performan...

Wii U is a result of arrogance from Nintendo. They rebranded a gamecube, sold it to non-gamers and made a fortune. They assumed the fad would last and it hasn't. Now they've been caught twiddling their thumbs and their sales reflect that.
It's all preferences, people. Your nostalgia does not validate your arguments on which is better.
The listen mode was put in place just as EVERY new game now has 'cheat vision' as i call it. It's there for the noobs who aren't patient enough to approach the game cautiously. It was not meant for core gamers... that's just my opinion.

When will ms learn the best approach for xbox is to separate it from the rest of ms as well as they can. The xbox used to feel like it's own thing. Now it's just another ms product.

That leap in hardware should provide much more eye candy than a bump in overall resolution. And there certainly doesn't appear to be any lighting effects based on the footage I've seen. Mario Kart 8, for example, has a much bigger leap in graphics which I was hoping to see mirrored with this new mario game.
Or you could wait for the timed exclusives to be up and play it on the console made by the people that truly support gaming. But that's your call.
