Sony, I think are setting themselves up for the 4th generation. The more I read about CELL, the more I understand its potential. Sony in theory could use a derivation of the existing CELL processor in the 4th generation playstation. They could call it 'Embreyo' :)

Sony has to deliver, no other choice. February was a bad month for PS3 hardware. I'm assuming March will be better with the onslaught of positive news. Anyway, congrats to Sony if they can pull it off.
If you're a kid trying to get a PS3. What a great reason. Imagine telling your mom and dad, 'The PS3 could cure cancer!, You HAVE to buy it for me and join in!'.

This is what the industry needs, more passion! Although there has been money made with licensing (Spiderman, Scarface, etc ...) there is nothing like something original since there is nothing else to compare it to other than other games within the gen...
Because bladestar, the success of the Blu-ray format has an effect on the success of the PS3 and vice versa. Now, this can be argued on what effects what but you can't deny the HUGE investment Sony has on Blu-ray. Discs sold, gauge market trends. In the 'gaming' industry, its all about market trends especially when a core component of your system is in battle with a competitor. I agree with you on 'Sony' droids posting the same stuff but remember that the Euro launch is only days away and alot of these articles are Euro centric. This is what also sold my brother into getting a 360 once he saw my media center like setup (I have Win XP Home edition). Although its a tad bit more limited than having a Media Center PC, it works well. If you have high def movies ... make sure you have plenty of bandwidth at your home/office to stream it. SD (standard def) movies are fine for streaming with a standard cable/dsl wireless/wired setup.

I'd drop a bombshell on the week of the Euro PS3 launch. What that bombshell is ... I don't know. Only Sony knows whats cooking in the oven but it sure smells good.

Anything less than a AAA title will be a failure considering the amount of effort going into this game. I think Sony knows that and isn't quick to show anything right now to the public. It doesn't have to be a 'halo-killer'. Halo will be Halo. It hopefully should etablish itself as the premiere PS3 shooter and compliment other fine shooters like RFOM.
I can't imagine Sony putting out new functions (very big functions) on a redesign. A redesign is different than saying PSP2 (next version of PSP). A true PSP2 might have tilt control, added camera, and touch screen. Its just a PSP redesign ... nothing more nothing less.
Now ... I don't mind paying for extra content but this doesn't make sense to me. You could arbuably say that 'TimeTrial' is a staple of any racing game, sim or arcade. Wouldn't you expect to at least get that for 59.99? Am I paying 59.99 for graphics and some nice physics? The 'new' track is just a reverse track of Coyote Revenge, with some slight changes.

MS has to realize that decisions like these scream, 'We don't care about your previous investment' and it minimizes the advantage over your competitors. They abrubtly stopped support of the original Xbox so let us at least be able to play all the games previously released. If not all, then the ones that matter the most. I've been a gamer since the day I stole my own Christmas gift from my uncle (it was an NES) and brought it home fives days before Christmas :)
Since that point, I wasn't really into online gaming until Gears of War came out. It took alot for me, a self-professing lover of all things gaming, to get into the online space. Of the 6 million Xbox live users .... how many of them are 'hardcore' gamers? There could be only so many Gears of War like releases that will draw more peop...
I can't imagine MS getting into the handheld market in this generation. They have to be too busy trying to snatch up as much marketshare on the console side of things. When Sony launched the PSP ... it was an inevitable thing considering that they were running away with marketshare with PS2. Although the handheld market and console market are two different markets ... why put your console at risk since handhelds (small in stature) are a huge investment. I know ... I know, say all you want...
that Nintendo was considering this approach years ago but to this day, they do not have a solid gameplan for online gaming. Yes, they are attempting a social network with the Wii but not to this magnitude. It probably wasn't worth the time and money 2 years ago ... but its not 2005 anymore.

Graphically, I'd give the nod to VF5 (slightly) after playing both games (bought DOA just to compare after this article was posted) although the graphical styles of the two games are quite different.
