but I have a premium. I'll upgrade to the 120 GB HDD. Where is my option for HDMI? 2 of the Xbox SKUs don't have it and you can't upgrade that. The argument here is 'future-proof' versus 'evolutionary'. I don't mind things being evolutionary. Evolution is good. How will I get my Xbox to output in 1080P (naitive) with a premium unit?
while I do agree that it was a junior high comment I just don't get the whole comment about DX9 and DX10. Wouldn't Sony miss out anyway if DX9 and 10 are Microsoft APIs. You sure you know what DX9 and 10 are?
has nothing to do with the best price level or best premium online service because quite frankly the 360s were selling before Sony had instroduced the 499 and 599 price points. This has to do with the installbase that a year plus headstart gives.
Strange that Eidos is taking this stance and EA isn't. Why would they be so conservative? Is it because maybe EA has cash to burn? With any next gen game the publisher has a certain number to hit before turning in a profit. Was Ub...
is that a postive compliment from you about Sony? Maybe I was wrong about you ... you aren't that bad!
Kuddos to Insomniac and Sony for this milestone.
The sarcasm in my tone
if you are a core user that has upgraded to the 20GB and spent $99 and want IPTV, I'll need to get the 120 GB HDD since its essentially tailored for this. I'll have to throw an additional $179 and basically say goodbye to my $99 investment.
Why couldn't MS just offer me the ability to pick and choose the hardware I want. I wouldn't mind strapping on a 500GB external unit to my 360. Why does it have to be a MS HDD?
If the Elitists want to pick up the new SKU, go right ahead. You have a couple of options.
(1) Sell your premium and use the difference to purchase the Elite. Not sure how much you are out, I guess its worth it since you want to be 'Elite'.
(2) You could upgrade your existing premium to the 120 GB, making your existing 20GB HDD useless (could sell that). Is the transfer cable part of the package with purchasing the 120GB HDD since the transfer is a one time ...
And everyone on this post runs a successful gaming company. As a director of my company (financial software), it is important to have a good relationship with your third parties. Otherwise, you will be alone in the struggle.
You Xbaboons will spin anything.
I don't disagree with you. I agree that the PS2 network adapter, n64 ram expansion, etc helped to segregate game players. The eye toy and various forms of race wheels are peripherals. I don't consider it an add-on. Its considered an add-on when you add to the core functions of the system. Name me one add-on that has succeeded?
To get that HD picture, you need alot of pixels buddy that create high resolution textures. High resolution textures take memory. Where are you go...
in my post do I say 'PS3 RULES'. See the difference between you and me is that I know when to stop caressing my 360 and start slapping it. I'm not biased. I'll slap my PS3 also.
your asking for a smackdown aren't you. Ya, it does hurt. It hurts as a 360 owner. Let me tell you a very important thing about the console industry and maybe ... just maybe ... you'll get it. This is not the PC industry. Upgrades and Add ons do not work. Either you get it right the first time or you are screwed. Two SKU models (originally) ... one without a hard drive (core) ... one with a hard drive (premium). If you want a hard drive, spend $99 and you'll get your 20GB. Hmmm ... 2...
to crack a joke and lighten the mood. Too much tension with the Xbaboons. It sells more than Wii and Xbox 360 and yet we have articles like ... it didn't sell well in Brighton. I'm surprised they allocated 50+ units to Brighton. Just a theory man ...
Brighton is a gay city (look it up). Gay people do not buy PS3s, they buy Wiis! Just a theory.
1. Bioshock
2. Ninja Gaiden 2
3. Dead or Alive 5?
4. Dead Rising
5. Lost Planet
What are the chances of Gears going Sony?
God of War II extension pack on disc and/or 1080P version through downloadable content on the PS3. I don't its the movie since they only just got the ball rolling on it. It wouldn't be the PSP since they have the PS2 logo on it. I can't think of anything else.
I would trade in my 360 for PS3 too if Microsoft opts to sell the Elite at 479. They blasted Sony for making an overpriced machine. To bad the difference between this and the 20 GB PS3 model is 20 bucks. You wouldn't get the Elite unless you had HDMI anyway and that's implying you have an HDTV. So, why wouldn't for 20 more dollars get a Blu-ray player inside my console of choice. That 479 price point justifies Sony's pricing schema.
companies have been notorious for cutting supplies before launch because quite frankly its hard to predict demand outside of pre-sales. They still play the conservative game and 'starve the market' in order to create hype. The 360 (although not proven) could have done it when it launched and I believe the PS2 did it when it launched. That's a maybe on the 360 side because they did run into huge production issues which leads me to believe that their QA was not up to snuff on the production ...
Its talking about US sales (NPD), not total global sales. They aren't talking about shipped versus sold, its sold. Its the TOTAL number of units sold given the same time period.
he could have said 'massive land where the cost of living is lower depending on the area' and be professional about it but hey what do I know ... I'm no director at Sony. PR lessons Ray ... get PR lessons ... and get them soon!
If you can't hit your target numbers for launch then its YOUR fault. If you need to delay the launch to hit your numbers, then do it. Unfortunetly for MS, the longer they delay, the closer it becomes to the 'theoretical' launch date of the PS3. If you can't meet demand and your supplies suck, tough luck. Don't play with the numbers, just look at the results.
