exclusives + third Party content bro. The sheer number of potential AAA titles that are first/second party coupled with the potential number of AAA titles from third party developers give the 360 an edge this year. Honestly, the third party stuff isn't really going in the favor of the PS3 currently and I don't blame lazy developers, just unedumacated ones about the PS3 architecture. I'm giving the 360 an edge this year just because of the lack of polish that third parties are giving to PS3...
Its quite obvious that the PS3 does not have the titles to wooo the crowds in 07. Yes, I've heard all the arguments about price point. In all honesty, if the gamers are there, I'm sure the masses will 'work harder' to afford it (sorry Kutaragi-san).
For the PS3 line-up to compete with the 360 2nd year line-up is nonsense and as a PS fan and more importantly a 'gamer', I have no problem admitting that. In fact, I'm admitting something that is logical.

It says that Halo 3 will put the Xbox 360 further ahead of the PS3. It might very well. That doesn't mean that the 360 will win the next gen war because of Halo 3. MS didn't do it with Halo and MS didn't do it with Halo 2. Will it sells millions of copies. Sure it will, and I'll be a buyer.

Just because the Japs have 50mb connections doesn't mean they are interested in online gaming. They might be interested in movie downloads, music, high def streams ... but gaming hasn't really caught on.
