Anway, relating to the article, I'm very excited. I actually look forward to firmware upgrades and see what new versions I can use.
- Leave it up to the developer to balance bikes and cars without making it feel too arcade-like. You'll have the option to choose between bike and car. If Dev makes this balanced, shouldn't be an issue ... more of a preference.
- Makes things fresh ... almost Motostorm-like but on the streets minus the chaos. Weather effects are nice but PGR needs an update.
- PGR is a racing game. Its not NASCAR, its not Mariokart, its a RACING game. Its not limited to cars...
Like all businesses, its profitability over ingenuity. At this stage when most companies are transitioning to the next generation, it seems as though EA's business logic is to produce bare minimum and maximize profit through digital revenue. Bare minimum for EA is maximum for other companies and that's both a compliment and a gripe. I'm not going to expect a company like EA to push the new IP envelope since you tend to stick to winning formulas.

Its not that I'm serious about Madden ... I actually like the NFL 2K series better. I'm more upset about the lack of creativity and knowledge about American football by supposed product managers at EA.

(1) Halo 3 is not a system killer. No ONE game is bigger than the system.
(2) Killzone 2 is not a Halo 3 killer. It is its own game.

If I were Sony ... I'd say "JUST BRING IT". It sad that people are arguing over a philanthropic exercise but it is what it is. If reliability is NOT a concern with MS, why not.

What exactly is very close? Maybe in its ability to provide a close conversion to shaders through fixed function but thats all. Sure ... they can be reproduced but to what level?
Can be taken two ways ...
(1) Extra 'visual' flair is added weeks before release .. meaning now so the demo doesn't have it
(2) It never was intended to have the 'visual' flair. I'm assuming people are comparing the visuals to PGR3 and GT:HD.
Since the game is shipping 5/29/07 ... I'm leaning toward (2). Its cutting it close don't ya think.

How much of what their making for the PS3 is new IP? I would gladly take fewer games from NAMCO if some were new IP. We already know that new IP is coming from Cellulus (sp?) and Tekken 6 and the new Time Crisis has pretty much been confirmed for the PS3. Heck I wouldn't even mind a Tekken Collection.
Let's review the list of games before blowing this out of proportion.

How many NAMCO games have been released on the PS3 so far? Does anyone have sales figures for the below titles outside of Gundam Musou?
(1) Ridge Racer VII (Most regions)
(2) Mobile Suit Gundam Crossfire (Most regions)
(3) Gundam Musou (Japan)
There expectation is to profit on every PS3 game made with 500,000+ copies sold. Expected way too much with a next generation console taking into consideration its current price point.
