I think that Valve taking this first step is a good start. Although EA ported the game to the PS3, its still Valve's brainchild and their responsibility to maintain the Half-Life franchise name as well as the reputation of Valve.
I personally have purchased the game but have not unwrapped it for this very reason. I believe that Valve will fix a good portion of the issues in time. The Orange Box PS3 has the potential to sell 500,000 units if these steps are taken.

One thing I do believe Sony is inviting is bad attach rates. Of the total userbase of PS3 owners, how many actually buy games. There are plenty of buyers that buy for Blu Ray use only. Mark, seriously. You need to check your eyes. How can a console with a one year head start but still second in market share be the winner in 07? There is no doubt that the PS3 is not the winner but Nintendo took 07. I guess if you are wearing 'hardcore' glasses, the 360 won in your eyes but that is your opinion.
The winner of 07 is subjective. Sony won for its hardware and media capabilities. 360 won for its software. The Wii won for sales. Making a general claim of 360...
I think that the service was down due to unscheduled work done in order to accommodate the uptick in Live users signing up during the holidays. It could very well be regional. Whatever the case maybe, unless the servers malfunction, things such as this should be communicated well as well as planned in advance.

2. Episodic content for the 360 in 09. You guys will be waiting about a year for it. 50 million paid has its advantages. So you guys pay 90+ for the GTA IV experience. You can tack that onto your 50/year Live bill + other GTA IV crap (like themes) that will also nickle and dime you.

Sony will have 2 more Rockstar exclusives + the core GTA IV game. Who really looks good on this one? This deal is like the HD DVD group paying of Paramount at 150 million. Why prolong the inevitable? Good try though MS.

The first 2 are legendary titles (imho).
Call of Duty 4. Consistent on PS3, 360, and the PC. Sold well on all three. Good MP on all three. Enjoyable on any of the three platforms. What more can you ask for?

The PS3 has enough momentum going into 08 and it will do fine. The system has more than enough ammo in 08. The PS3 is what everyone wants, everyone except diehard MS gamers. This is why the 360 will only sell 40 million max worldwide.
