Things cost money? Who knew?
Great idea, just about 10 years to early.
I just got an MRI that cost 10,000$ and I esitmate I pay about 300-400$ a month for my family. So I'd say no.
And still works. But hey if you want to pay for something I could do on my PC since 1994, then hey more power to you. Well actually that makes you an idiot.
And I would rather get move. Concidering it costs $300 to get a two player setup with the Wii and it costs around $200 to get a two player setup to get the Move. If you already own a PS3 you would be an idiot to buy a Wii. Well actually to buy a Wii in the first place you would have to be pretty mentally challenged.
Actually there is a limit. Processing power dictates that. I am sure they could have a 50 person pong game that would run though.
Dude, that means very little. Everything sells a ton when its first released. Remember there were lines with thousands of people to get their hands on the ps3 for 600$. Its how it does during the holidays that matters for them.
For me, the whole concept is stupid. Kinect is great technology, but without a controller its useless to me. You cannot play hardcore games without a controller, no way, no how. So that either means microsoft is going to ingnore hardcore gami...
Of course? Any you just want to be entertained. I don't trust you. Just saying man.
Its 70$ for a wii controller set with Motion Plus. So 80$ for a navigation and move set is not that bad. Its only initial controller if you don't have the eye that is pricy. I wanted to buy a wii, this will be much cheaper for me. Its around 300$ for a wii with two player setup.
But if the processing has been moved to the 360 instead of their proprietary chip then suddenly it is possible....
I would think it would be less possible. Hardware acceleration is always better than a software solution. That is why you buy a GPU for you computer and don't let the CPU do graphics processing.
It uses stereo vision and infrared to get a very good notion of depth. A great device. I don't think anyone can argue that. But, without a decent input device like the move it will never be able to be used for hardcore games. Unless someone can explain to me how it would be, but I just don't see it. Microsoft is going to have to release some form of controller sutable for movement at some point.
The playstation eye is far less advanced, but it isn't a bad s...
MRHARDON,
Even if all you said was true about copying the Wii? So what. News flash, nothing with nintendo Wii is new. It was present in arcades for decades in various light guns and other peripherals. I thing you should of stayed in school.
ravinash,
Don't forget there are parents like me with little kids that already own a ps3. I don't want to buy a Wii and with this I won't have to. I know many ps3 owners who are also parents so don't underestimate the effect that could have.
Actually yes I am laughing. You know why. Because people who buy kinect are going to probably spend 50$/person extra once Microsoft realizes that you can't play anything but party games without a control device. By the way an XBOX360 controller will not be easy to used with kinect at the same time. That is when I will laugh.
Ok ignore my comment below. Someone else stated the obvious.
Am I the only one that is going to state the obvious? There is a single natal device. There are multiple ways to buy the move. You could buy the 99$ combo pack or just the move. Add those sales together, which are both in the top 15 it would probably me much closer.
On a side note? Why do sales number always validate a purchase? I mean Hitler had pleanty of followers in Germany but I think he was obviously wrong. Think before you speak.
Nav has L1 and L2
Its affordable if you are not on welfare.
Given the small memory footprint XMB must work in I wouldn't be suprised if it was very hard to implement within the current system. Making an OS do something it wasn't designed ahead of time to do while not breaking any of their back catalog of games is a very challenging thing.
If they introduced a controller it would of escalated the cost. I really think at somepoint microsoft is going to have to release at least a playstation navigation like controller.
