Well, actually Wii is Nintendo's most expensive console up to date. Add that to the fact that the average price of Wii is higher than that of Xbox 360's at eBay and you'll understand that people buy Wii mainly because of the innovation, not price.
Wii is not next gen, it's current gen. Gamecube was Nintendo's last gen console.
I don't see any harm in minigames because it's not like people are forced to buy them or the Wii. However, Chess is not a minigame. It is probably the most tactical, hardest to master strategy game ever made. Here's one site that offers 700 pages of chess tactics: http://www.chesstactics.org...

Wii is technically different generation compared to Gamecube because GC isn't able to play Wii's games*. Compared to GC, Wii has
A) larger format
B) more processing power
C) built-in memory for saving games etc.

UK (=United Kingdom) is only one country in the PAL-region. In PAL region, PS3 has sold ~1.25 million units and Wii ~2.71 million.
I think this could turn out well if there's Wiimote controlled Tai Chi, fitness etc. with proper instructions, excercise information and feedback to the user. You know, some people actually pay large amounts of cash to waggle and sweat with a fitness instructor, despite a lot of the feedback is based on easily quantifiable things, thus making this sort of a simulator possible to make.
The developers are definitely lazy, since the only Wii game that looks as good as GC's RE4 is the RE4 Wii edition. Super Mario Galaxy is a step up from Sunshine, but I would also like to see a high-profile game with darker style. Sadness? Perhaps...
Violence leads to more violence and a murder is the worst act of violence. I don't care if the murder is committed by something abstract like the state, it is still wrong and a sign of primitive thinking. Capital punishment, as you like to fancily call it, doesn't help preventing violent crimes. In fact, the opposite is true. In places where the death sentence is used, homicides are a lot more common than in places where people are put into jail.
Some people say public execution and death penalty in general would be the solution for these kind of horrible crimes, but that's just not true. When people kill, they're either A) nuts and don't realise what they're doing or B) they realise what they're doing but don't think they're going to get caught. That's why death penalty is not a deterrent. There's actually a lot less criminality in Europe, although we don't use death penalty or any other type of primitive punsihment. We send the kill...
The score for graphics tells you how good the game looks relative to the console's horsepowers. I think that's the practice in every gaming site.
EDIT: yeah, both PS3 and Wii are capable of more than what EA managed to pull off this year with Madden.

It's good to see talented teams working on Wii games and the fruits of their work. The Wii really needs these great games to show developers and consumers what it's capable of.

Well, actually the Wii version of Madden 07 scored a bit higher than the 360 version in gamerankings. I wouldn't personally know about their quality though because I haven't played either one. This year the Wii version gets some features (like the telestrator mode) not seen on PS3/360, so it might be a good buy too.
Actually Zelda is the most stagnant of Nintendo's franchises, whereas Super Mario and Metroid seem to change quite a bit this gen. I wonder if you would have complained about recycling if the games had different characters and were named Galaxy-Man and Federation-Man. There would be no resemblence to Super Mario Sunshine and Prime 1&2.
