The Free Dictionary defines fad as "A fashion that is taken up with great enthusiasm for a brief period of time; a craze". You called the Wii a fad, despite of the fact that it has outsold both PS3 and X360 every month worldwide since it's release one and a half years ago, IIRC. May I ask you what is a short time in console related discussion, or is it simply defined as the time which Wii is popular? Will the Wii ever be called a success instead of fad by PS3 and X360 gamers?

That is, artistic, ambitious and alternative.

I love Sin City, both the graphic novel series and the movie, so this is definitely good news for me. I seriously hope they innovate in the content department and make tight controls, because this game unfortunately has the potential of being top-seller just because of the uber cool art style.

People thought I was crazy when I predicted Wii's long term success even before it came out. The main argument against my prediction was that it was too underpowered compared to PS3 and X360 to have long legs, but the problem in the argument is that processing power was never intended to be the selling point for Wii. It's all about innovative software, just like with DS, and the software sales nowadays are huge for the Wii. Wii Music is going to be the next Wii phenomenon after Wii Fit.

but I would have liked to see Demon's Crest for the SNES on that list. I think it's still one of the best games I have ever played.

I remember very freshly driving around and killing the joggers and people at the train stations to collect the money required to unlock a new city. It's funny how some gaming journalists mention only GTA3 as the first step of open-ended gaming when GTA clearly is a true sandbox game with a total freedom on tackling the main objective.

I also made a bunch of my own vehicles for the game with the help of GTACars software program and submitted most of them to GTAzz under the nick ...

Not necessarily, but I think that unlocking Luigi in SMG is comparable to unlocking all fighters in a fighting game. What's more, it's the result for collecting all the units of the key object class in the game.

To clarify my thoughts on this matter: For one to say that game X doesn't pose enough challenge for a player, he/she should logically refer to every objective in the game. If the person is referring only to the part of the game that helps one making the point, he/she c...

Yes, you didn't mention violence, but aren't platforms what platformers are all about? I mean, what could have been bigger and more appropriate innovation in a Mario game than spherical platforms? Squirting water with FLUDD in Super Mario Sunshine was definitely a lame invention, though I have to admit that I haven't played the game.

I'm not saying that your opinion is wrong, it's just that I think Miyamoto and the team made commercially speaking the right decisions and produce...

Ahh, the old "everyone's wrong but me" syndrome. Everyone's entitled to their own opinion, even without playing the game, but to imply that the Tokyo team of Nintendo didn't work hard for the 3 years this game was in the making, is just utterly hilarious.

"...this is soul caliber right?"

Nope, it's Soul Calibur.

Sad to say this, but the future for 3rd party games on Wii doesn't look bright. When even the most innovative hardcore games like Zack and Wiki bomb sales-wise, there is no hope for these kind of medocre titles.

I used to believe that the brisk hardware sales and the commercial success of early 3rd party games would have encouraged both developers and players to consider Wii as som...

"l4wl", you stated that the motion controls don't work half the time, while other sites practically praise the controls for their responsiveness. Is your wiimote broken or didn't you just understand that you have to wait for a second between spin attacks?

By the way, the correct version of "this would not of been" is "this would not have been".

MK Red: Even if you don't count the remakes, there are still at least 14 RE games: Resident Evil, RE 2, RE 3, RE 0, RE 4, RE Deadly Silence, RE Code: Veronica, Resident Evil Gaiden, Resident Evil Outbreak, Outbreak 2, RE Dead Aim, RE Survivor plus two mobile games (RE and RE missions). When all the versions of each game are counted, it totals 37 games.

Do you really think these kind of posts help the situation? It's ironic that you as a gamer think someone who opposes games because of suspected aggression adding effects, should be killed because of his views. You're just helping Thompson. Hopefully Thompson-minded people don't visit this site, because otherwise you would be in trouble.

It's funny how these fanboys have nothing better to do than add pathetic little flamebaits to their news. They have a hard time succeeding at fooling people though, because the grammar is so bad compared to the part of the text that's in it's original form.

-Innovation - have you heard of the 3D-position tracking Wiimote?
-Good games - Wii has 8 games in the 80%-> area (gamerankings)
-Decent online service - Have you tried Madden 08, for example?
-Value - the only meter for this would be consumers and they unarguably think Wii has great value if you look at the sales
-mature games - What are RE4, Godfather: blackhand edition, Mortal Kombat Armageddon, Splinter Cell Double agent etc. then?
-Style - Sleek, sma...

To w57cpd: If you think people buy Wii only because of the cheap price point, then why is it's average price higher than that of 360's and almost as high as PS3's at eBay? Average prices:
Wii - $396.50
360 - $295.87
PS3 - $434.48

the greatest - I wouldn't say "PS2 rules", as it only covers 4 games out of 25.

cloud360 - Pokemon Yellow is counted as a different game compared to blue/red/green. It's on the bottom of the list and sold 8 million copies. Blue/red/green are counted as one game, because they have the exact same plot and fights. The only thing that makes them different is that the few pokemons you are unable to catch in one version aren't the same as in the other versions.

MK Red, what do you mean by saying Wii has no big exclusives for 2008? If you're talking about sales, you forgot about Mario Kart and Wii Fit. Wii Music, Disaster, Nights, FFCC and Sadness are currently not the most hyped games, but we'll see how they shape up. Review wise, well, nothing can be said at this point.
