I can't figure out why state of play's at this point are compared to annual showcases. Sony does them monthly/bi-monthly. They aren't intended to compete with this Xbox showcase, but hey take the W and wait another year+ for most of these games, how's Hellblade 2 the big showcase trailer from last year?
This is silly. Take your time Sony. If you filter out the multiplatform games in the Xbox Showcase, they still haven't done much more than Sony for the future. All they have done is improve on prior years which was really not hard to do. This is just a case of "what have you done for me lately".
Sony Exclusives:
Astrobot
Silent Hill 2
Wolverine
Death Stranding 2
Phantom Blade Zero

I didn’t say it was bad, I just made a few points on some specific games. It was a good show but Indiana jones and south of midnight will be busts…mark my words lol. I liked what I saw of perfect dark.
Where was the Sony showcase?
It was a good showcase but it’s been the same games they’ve been waving in faces for multiple years now, no real surprises and many still without launch dates.
Indiana Jones is going to be so mid. The gameplay looks straight bad. Perfect Dark is a nice futuristic rip of Mirror’s Edge though…No real surprises today otherwise. We knew about pretty much all of this. South of Midnight looks like a flop in the making also. World of Warcraft PC only why?
State of Play is a 30 minute sizzle reel. It is not meant to compete with the yearly Xbox showcase.
I think this will be a good show. Microsoft has never really had bad shows, it’s just bad output/quality on release. We are going to start putting the stuff they announced too soon on doorsteps with actual release dates and then they can put more emphasis on Gears, Fable, Perfect Dark etc
Just think in the past 17 months Xbox has dropped two exclusive action/adventure games worth playing totaling 17 hours of playtime (Hi-Fi and Senua). 13 when you take out Senua’s cutscenes. Less than a hour per month of high quality exclusive gameplay (well was….hi-fi rush is now playable on PS5). Keep being told to wait the games are coming by Xbox fans….but it’s the carrot dangling on the fishing pole over and over. Better luck in September or October on the next big release. They surely lo...
The hate for this man is off the charts. Until they release a complete dud, don't bet money against them.
Experience the lengths Senua goes to….oy what a set up for jokes
Inflated because xbox sites can’t afford to admit another premiere game is a bust after redfall. 10/10 FOR A 5 hour walking simulator with a bunch of cutscenes LMAO
Absolutely pathetic. Years of development for yet another mediocre game. Xbox is a cesspool that can’t get out of its own way. Sony coming in with a showcase now to put the final nail in the coffin.
I guess my question is how much more realistic do we WANT these games? We play games to get away from reality....and the more realistic they are, the longer the development time.
Can’t tell if this is sarcasm or not, anything is possible here….but imagine playing a game a year and a half before PC and being upset about it.
The difference being Sony has a large group of other studios that have done something positive. Microsoft just closed the studio to the only good game they released in the past year (Hi-Fi Rush).
100% agree.
Why hellblade 2 is fine being 9 hours….because Xbox hasn’t had a good game in 10220.011 hours (equivalent of 14 months). :(
Darth.... "The initial comment is under the impression that simply having a 32x attached it made the non 32x games better when that is absolutely not the case. And why I said to use the Supergrafx as a better example because that one DID enhance even non supergrafx games."
No the initial comment (by me) was stating that hardware add-ons have been a thing for some time and the key words are "in other ways". I didn't specifically say it was the same me...
It's two fold - you want to see a promising future, but you can't play game trailers nor is there any guarantee the games will turn out good. Regardless, it was nice to see these games for Microsoft becoming more of a reality even if many of them are a ways off.
