I would not be shocked to see a new Xbox holiday 2026. They know Sony is launching end of 2027, this would essentially be their hail mary for what many seem to believe is their final console

Sony consoles have the greatest output every single year of the 3 companies.
Saros, Intergalactic, Death Stranding 2, Ghost of Yotei, The Midnight Walk, Wolverine, Phantom Blade…..Sony starting to heat up….still some 1st party devs holding their cards close.
But are they going to be better?!
The high scores are not being ignored, the point is every average game gets higher scores from certain sites in particular. Metacritic will be in the 70's for one of Xbox's most hyped games of the year.
Microsoft just can't find the next big thing. Obsidian is a great developer, watching this I certainly didn't feel the need to play it.

The problem with the money break down for GP is you are removing time from the equation. Since X|S launch 49-50 months ago, launch owners spent $1000 on gamepass and have had really not much NEW to play that was quality since. I can tell you for sure I don’t spent $1000 on games I actually WANT to own and really care about in a generation. Between being picky about what I actually purchase and getting games used….over the course of an entire generation, I am saving money over gamepass.
I have been a major The Show supporter yearly since The Show 07. It has become a yearly roster update with no major changes ever since it became an Xbox freebie. Legit stale since MLB 21. Coincidence? Can't say for sure but the timing is interesting.

If Call of Duty hasn’t turned sales around what makes you think a game like Elder Scrolls which will also be on PC will? Elder Scrolls does not have the “momentum” it once had. That generation of gamers has kids now. Starfield was the test for Bethesda and its cult followers. It failed miserably to get gamers on board before release with all the hype. There is nothing Xbox can do to swing momentum. They have spent billions and can’t even keep pace in America. They have zero chance in EU/Asia...
If that works for you definitely. For my situation, 7 years of PS Plus is cheaper than a PC graphics card alone. (I would be starting from scratch) - I am the person they are talking about.

If the Midnight Walk is as good as it looks - that would be absolutely insane in VR soon. As a PSVR2 owner - I certainly don't use it often but every now and then something comes along or calls me back that is an experience like no other. Namely - No Man's Sky, Resident Evil, Gran Turismo.
