we didn't need to count frames with side scrolling sprites. PSX/N64/PS2 era we were just glad to get 3D and continuously more realistic hands instead of blocks. Visual fidelity has reached a point where performance does matter now. 30fps isn't a deal breaker if it's locked. However it dips into the 20's which you can clearly see in the footage, that's the bigger issue for me.

What he should have said: If you want this game at 60FPS the game will be delayed until after the holidays and at this point we simply cannot afford another year of nothing.

If series S can run this at 30fps they could have lowered the resolution from 4K on the X. No excuse.
I agree with you completely. They are getting out of hand. They really should print disc versions for Collector's Editions but this is another way for them to limit production costs and make even more money. I personally have accepted digital and I don't think I've purchased a physical release since the beginning of this gen (Miles Morales, Demon's Souls, Forza Horizon 5 & Halo Infinite) but can acknowledge why this is a big deal for people willing to shell out this kind...

1) Fable is coming, some time.
2) Hellblade 2 is coming, some time in 2024.
3) Forza Motorsport requires online connectivity
4) Avowed is paying homage to 2012
5) Starfield will be as smooth as Tears of the Kingdom
6) More Flight Simulator, Fallout 76, Overwatch 2, Sea of Thieves
7) A Black Series S to ship with unsold Series X controllers
8) Perfect Dark is perfect...

This was the most unspectacular showing. Literally this showcase was a bunch of no release date, non-gameplay videos. I guess “wait til next summer showcase” will be a thing yet again for 2024. Just keep waiting, but hey you got more Forza and expansions for Flight Simulator, Fallout 76, Sea of Thieves and Overwatch 2 to hold you over.
Lightning: Sadly aside from Hi-Fi Rush which they had nothing to do with all came out in 2021. Here we are looking at a bunch of games for 2024-2025 and that’s still the list.

No Perfect Dark, No Indiana Jones, No Stalker, No Coalition, No State of Decay, No Everwild, No id Software, No gameplay for Hellblade and a basic 2024 release, Fable looked nice but again no gameplay or even a year estimate, Avowed looked incredibly mediocre, Starfield’s combat has not improved, a black Series S, More Sea of Thieves, More Flight Simulator….Microsoft had an opportunity here to swing for the fences and missed. I was anticipating being blown away today and was not.
Pretty sure open world games having a map and markers is not Ubisoft exclusive LOL. Nor has Ubisoft even made an open world game as good as Horizon or Ghost of Tsushima LOL.

Bluepoint, New Naughty Dog IP, Bend, Sucker Punch, Guerrilla, team Asobi, Santa Monica….they’re all working on stuff we don’t know yet. Meanwhile Microsoft is about to blow their entire load for the remainder of the generation because…they have to.
Like what? We already knew about FFVII; Rebirth. We already knew about Spider-Man 2, we already knew about Alan Wake 2….if you’re referring to Mortal Kombat 1, then sure that was a nice look…but only because we haven’t seen it yet even though we knew it was coming also. Samsung Ads, Fortnite, Twisted Metal trailers?
