This would be good news. This generation has way more in the tank and a 2027 console drop would simply feel like more of the same and not a jump. I'm all for 2029.
Buying games vs making games are two different things. If they don’t go on their recent spending spree they would have Flight Simulator, Halo Infinite, Forza Horizon, Forza Motorsport…..again. Like the last 25 years. The only other difference is everyone else gets to enjoy them without locking into Xbox hardware or the Xbox Subscription ecosystem.
If the console is dead it’s dead. They can publish for PlayStation all they want. Was EA and Ubisoft ever part of the console wars? No.

It's relative. If the top selling game has 300K units sold then it wouldn't be hard to take the top spot....but because Microsoft doesn't share sales data to allow the ability for marketing spin we'll never know.

Horizon? Returnal? Demon’s Souls? Spider-Man 2? Silent Hill 2? Gran Turismo 7? Death Stranding 2? God of War? Helldivers 2? Stellar Blade? The Last of Us Part 1? …… None of these are on the list? K.
All of those factors combined buried Microsoft, but the install base for the 360 is also inflated by the RROD, so we truly don't know how competitive it was with the PS3 to begin with. 54% failure rate and 41% had multiple failures.

The feel between the two is negligible at best. One thing I can absolutely say is not negligible is the sound difference. The Series controller is a loud, clicky, cheap sounding mess.
I mean you’re getting 3 years at minimum out of a PS5 Pro if it drops end of 2027, I think that’s quite reasonable, especially given most people are trading up for $300
