So I guess this puts an end to the rumor about Sony recalling all the PSP-3000 models.
I like this pack, very similiar to the Daxter pack I got with my PSP-2000. It gives you enough starter storage space, one of the best PSP games, and a pretty good UMD movie to enjoy.
@GiantEnemyLobster
Users don't mod the DS because R4 lets them play pirated games without leaving a scratch on the system. Seriously, do you stand up for any console as long as it does not have the Sony logo?
Read the interview again. He never said they owned all of their catalog, only the big ones they have funded. I think 2nd party studio relation gives the developers a certain level of independence but still allows them direct access to a lot of publisher resources (take motion capture and the cinematic camera technology they used from Sony).
They are a 2nd party developer. If you check out their podcast, they regularly have guests from other Sony developers. Sony has had a good tr...
Agreed, there are developers that don't need to use it. For the developers that do, what in the world is the problem? As long as it doesn't go overboard with 10GB installs, I'm fine with it. Even if it was optional, I would still use to reduce load times (not always significantly) and reduce wear on Blu Ray drive (the only thing that still rarely fails on a PS3). Only gets annoying when developers gets lazy and uses it, like Capcom with Lost Planet port.

I'm pretty sure that tie ratio was from NPD, so it only counts for the US.
@supahbad
I'm not sure about development cost, since they are split down the middle with all major titles being cross platformers. But making games on Blu Ray shouldn't cost much more than DVDs ever since the PS3 supported LTH technolgy, which basically lets normal DVD assembly lines to easily converted to support Blu Ray. You can read it up, but Blu Ray cost less in terms of only hav...
It's alright, it's very easy to get continents confused with each other.
I agree, but he did confuse me on the forward compatibility part. For an old game to play better on a new console is simply enhanced backwards compatibility (allowing a console to play games from previous gens with greater graphics). So isn't forward compatibility the ability for your previous gen systems to play games for new generation systems with reduced graphics (like how it is like on PC)?
Why do these editorials always forget the things the PS3 has done for Sony? It gave them the edge to win the next gen media format and it acts as the central hub for Sony to focus their internal developers for (such as the XMB, video/audio store, etc).
Finally, did these people even take economics? PS3 has been earning a profit with the learning curve (a rule that states costs decrease as cumulative production volume rises). The reason the profit forecast fell is because of the ...
A typo in your post "OPM UK gave R1 a 7/10"
One of the few reasons the 360 can enjoy price cuts worldwide is the high value of the yen and euro. When exporting, you always want to make cheap and sell high, so it's hard for Japan to cut prices when their yen is so high. Unless these articles provide a way to turn the US economy around, ignore them.
I don't care about who owns CNET, but I am sick of this Don Reisinger guy. A good majority of his articles are either biased against Apple or Sony.
I paid $499 for mine and I'm a grad student (we are in debt). You just need to realize the difference between a one-time cost and recurring transactions.
I could have either have purchased a PS3 then or bought a 360 Pro (with 20GB HDD at that time), bought wireless adapter, a HD-DVD add-on (I'm not even going to comment on this), and annual subscriptions. I'm glad I went with the smarter choice, Sony just needs to teach the under educated public and shift the perceived value (to ...
I just noticed that variety's score of Fable II became 98. If I was allergic to BS, I would be in a coma by now.
What in the world? Metacritic thinks the n/a score here means 98. How in the world did they come up with that?
This post is better than most blogspot's "editorials". For a simple reason that it is factual and simply points out something that defies common sense.
It is when it is not even made by reviewer. It is when the game has garnered nothing below 90 until this one sneaked itself in. It is when it is simply ridiculous.
How would you feel if you watched a move, told me it was great, and I then told everyone else you gave it a 8/10?
So this is how they are going to sneak a <90 score onto LBP.
"If a critic does not indicate a score, we assign a score based on the general impression given by the text of the review."
That is simply ridiculous. They are reviewing reviews.
While I wouldn't go that far, I believe this is their way of ensuring user generated contents and social gaming stays fun and safe.
Have fun staying in the open zone.
The answer is in the official PS blog post.
