The irony in your statement is beyond funny...
You literally have to HOPE Microsoft delivers.
Sure, it will play third party games and there is some that are happy there... cool.
But hype? Absolutely not.
And yes... when you do not deliver for 9 years and counting... your words would be looked at as fake. That is the very definition. Remember the “fake” cloud power” talk?

Yeah, no..
They released a war cry and then their shills will beat it into the comments and articles for the next week.

Why?
You think vague specs makes up for the last 9 years of the worst effort a gaming product/company has ever offered?

Sony has no need to flex.. especially since they will be releasing THREE more award winning games in the first 6/7 months of this year...
How about we see the things that excites players for new hardware instead of empty promises.

They are gaming... how are they holding back gaming? 🤔
You do realize that not only are these engines old... they are not going anywhere for the most part.

There is what? No functional games on pc that outdo what is out there.
So who is being held back exactly?

Imagine if you knew how it really worked.
Are you getting paid for this?

Third party games are under contract.
Unless the ip is owned by the company offering said product, they are only as guaranteed as the contracts are.
Period.
There is no “superior” version of this agreement.

Microsoft does not make games, so no.. they are in no way superior.

It comes down to game engines.. not so much the hardware..
Most game engines this gen from third party developers and the few titles Microsoft released were on ten year old engines with just more make up.

Sony spent this gen having their developers creating new engines. Polygon, naughty dog, guerrilla games, Santa Monica, etc all are ready to change things..

Sony has a vision too.
So that is a guaranteed investment because they are read...

@Kiwi66
Every console was bad up till the third model/version Microsoft eventually got right.
It was already stated by Microsoft that the design was faulty for the first 4 years.

Some lasted, most did not. They were all faulty.
That number you shared would ONLY come from those consumers that returned their console through use of the warranty.. of which the warranty did not count the launch consoles or the fixed consoles, of which are in the same s...

Crackdown 3 says hi.

The game is not underappreciated... but at least it could EASILY be something more per addressing the gameplay per encounters.
Story, amazing..
When the gameplay would up, very solid..

Had its issues, but at least it was something new, effort put in the story/lore, and looked like a new gen release.

@logicwins having multiple copies/versions of the same AAA games does not make the selection better.
They offer like 3 titles that can be called new.
If anything, it is ruining your new AAA games per being cheaper products or over priced indies..
But they literally list 3 versions of a tomb raider game and 2 versions of gears 5
90% are fluff titles that should be a part of the the free monthly games the current live subscription service works.

Over twenty cases in America so far...
But you do realize what creates an outbreak right?
You know, not being cautious.

A video game convention, with hundreds of hands touching multiple items ie controllers mouse and keyboard plus a company that would need a lot of employees to oversee booths... with said employees from the country that had an outbreak ... I think being cautious is doing EXACTLY the right thing:

Just think of how the A...

If you are making exclusives, big or small, you are attracting a consuer base and build faith in a product.
Since Sony also wins a lot of awards with their exclusives and has also pushed gems repeatedly with amazing engines...
you are building faith..
There are less third party games that do major numbers over a Sony exclusive this gen.. with movements up to 10 million + and doubled the average exclusive sales over last gen..
You can clearly tell that exclu...

They will do well based of their history.
What is there to wait for? They might pull a Microsoft and not make new games for over 8 years?
Always a possibility... but it would shock their fans... it does not “worry” them.

But it is easy to say that, with any of these games, by just playing the campaign let alone an hour or so...
It is the live service and end game content/grind and loot that needs experienced to give any judgment at all.

These game are VERY easy to pull the wool over the eyes, cash in on release, then act like pouty babies getting picked on because the game absolutely sucks per its intent.

Compared to what?
I love the fact that Sony might only release 3 AAA exclusive titles in a year and they get tied into the “its been quiet”.. yet Microsoft goes 9+ years without making one single new AAA ip and mums the word.

And those people would change their minds if they saw high refresh rates with a lower resolution.
1440p at 140hz with high time mid range settings not only plays better but looks better than 4k at 30 to 60 fps.

Games move.. that is literally the trick to gaming... and how much clearer that image is will be due more to how fast it moves Vs resolution. Resolution is image size more than clarity.

Well... being that since day one this gen, the pc versions of Ubisoft games have been Coded in the console versions... it is all the same and down to just the hardware and being able to crank up the effects/settings... just like on a pc.
So no port needed.

It does not matter unless you take that advice and apply it here on n4g.

Either way, these types of headlines make their rounds due to the traffic and comments on this site.

Traffic is what brings this info into your basic search engines so that any unknowing consumer that searches for gaming would see this in their results.

Here is the problem with your point..

For the first 3 years of the Xbox one, Microsoft saw a huge drop in not only demand, but their subscriptions from last gen...
When it COULD not possibly go any lower, they would then brag about any tiny bump up with the “year over year” crap...
Where as Sonys drops are in fact fatigue per price point globally, their low currently is still above last gens time frame. Ie growth.
