Technically... naughty dog set the direction for Sony and their output per story telling and gameplay. This effected gow's direction.
Next would gtsport... not for the game.. but that was the engine that radically impacted sonys future proof direction with building new engines now for this upcoming gen.
Gaming world wise would be destinys strong attachment rate and monetization of the single player/co-op/multiplayer looter shooter that many have tried to follow.

Hard to put a $600 gift under the Christmas tree during a pandemic of which is going to squeeze a lot of people’s wallets come winter.
In return, with competing hardware, a lot of people are going to choose ONE console.... and consumers will go with the most reliable brand.

It is not about “innocent”, it about why does the media only care when Sony does what their competitor has been doing, not only since the launch of the 360, but also their entire existence.
It is not free content to be had.
There are contrasts and financial agreements that PAY for the extra content.
Sony is paying to give their consumers a playable character.

There will not be a pro unless there is a boom of 8k tvs sold to consumers and even then there still might not be one due to the ps5 can support 8k tvs and game textures.
