The multiplayer in Bishock 2 was actually good. I usually hate when shooters try and force in coop modes or multiplayer that don't need it but Bioshock 2 multiplayer has been better then most other recent shooters that try and force it in like Tomb Raider and Specs Ops.
They aren't squads of mech pilots, there just grunt bots which is why they don't use mechs. The players are pilots which the grunts even make comment about. You will hear them say how there aren't many pilots left which seems to point to the story that they are trying to funnel into the multiplayer.
Yeah I agree about the grunts. They are easy targets but also pretty fun to watch. You will see them stealth kill other each, they also drag away a fallen grunts that is hurt. They will fire on enemy mechs with rpg's and can even hear them make comments about it if you are near one.
No its not trying to reinvent the wheel or anything but still a lot of fun. The game has the best of both worlds, if you like battling in mechs you got it, not a fan then you don't have to use the them. The mechs just adds more depth and laying to game instead of trying be another CoD or BF.
You can call one down and let the AI control it if wanted. They aren't as effected but it still work well for distractions. You can also set your drop point down for your mech to ...
I agree with the article, let Telltale have a go at it. I could never see a proper Doctor Who game being anything but an adventure style game like Sam & Max or The Walking Dead.
Even that's easy to figure out now compared to how it was back in the day. All motherboards now have 2 digit LED bios code on the board that will tell you if something is wrong by looking up the code in the manual.
Its best just to buy a cheap test bench that will let you mount everything on it before putting it into the case.
This isn't running on the source engine. They are using the CryEngine 4.
Its pretty simple, its like building up an adult size lego. Ram sticks, video cards and whatever else your putting in it can only fit in specific slots so you don't have worry putting something in the wrong slot on the motherboard. Same with wiring up the powersupply. Just crack open any computer and you can get a good idea what hooks up to what.
Really the hardest part of it all is picking what hardware you want to use but that's also the fun part about it too.
For new releases your better of going to other sites. There is a few good sites like Greenmangaming that offer some pretty good deals for new releases.
Ebay also a good place for games that come bundled with video cards. You always have a few people that have a bunch of spare codes for the games to be redeemed. I got AC4/Splinter Cell Blacklist that was bundled together for $30 and that was at buy it now.
No its because EA is the publisher and I'm sure they will be pushing out dlc packs just like they do with the Battlefield games. The first two Battlefield games had great mod support, BF3 an BF4 have zero mod support.
It would be more for maps and new game modes. People could design complete new game modes with modding tools. Look at Battlefields Desert Combat mod, DICE ended up hiring the team that worked on that to help make Battlefield 2.
This is how it use to be with PC games until publisher starting pushing for dlc. Some of the most popular multiplayer games (Counter-Strike, DoTA) on the PC started off as mods, you never had to pay a cent for new game modes or map packs.
The sales are pretty much the same compared to all the past Summer and Winter sales. Indie and older games usually get the higher discounts. Your not going to see many newer games going anything past 75% off.
They aren't getting rid of Uplay, just the passport program. For anyone who games on the PC you will still have to use Uplay for any current and future Ubisoft titles.
Personally I never had a problem with Uplay. Far Cry 3, Blood Dragon, ACIV, those have all have ran fine for me. I still prefer Steam but Compared to Origin I think Uplay is much better.
If you count the Bad Company games yeah its more of 2yr dev time. BF2 was released in 2005, BF3 was released in 2011, that's a pretty big gap in between those two games where the dev cycle with BF4 was only two years.
I always felt that it does need a longer dev cycle with how much that goes into the multiplayer and they release enough content over time to keep it going strong.
Just so everyone knows these are only alpha play test levels and not part of the actual game. The development is still very early, they mention in the youtube comments its been worked for only three months so far. Animations and its art work are going to look different and better over time.
I'm always down for Metroid style game so I'm looking forward to this.
Well its using a PSU just like any PC would so that's always going to be inside the case. That's what I like about the case they made for this, everything has its own compartment inside.
Yeah you could try taking it back but good luck on trying to get a new one since pretty much all stores are sold out. Your better off just sending it in for repair.
No I agree fov sliders are always are good thing. I never get sick from low fov but it just looks better when it comes to an FPS with having fov set at 90-100. Its pretty lazy when the dev has a command in the reg file that lets you change the fov from there but doesn't put in a simple slider in the option screen.
Yeah the current bundle is pretty good. Natural Selection 2, Sanctum 2, Magicka, Orcs Must Die 2, Serious Same 3. A good mix of games.

They released a gameplay video of it last month. Combat is more like Batman/Assassins Creed. Its looks great, really looking forward it.
