As always MS bending reality to their advantage, gameplay does not mean gameplay and standard doesn't mean standard, they rather apologize than being upfront.
What I do wish is that we see a lot more developers give us the choice between a graphics and a performance mode, so we can choose if we'd rather get the best looks or the highest framerates, this way we can have our cake and eat it too.
The funny thing is how they apologized as if they didn't imagine something like this could happen, I do not know what's worse, then being oblivious to the fact that people expected to see gameplay in an event they promoted as gameplay centric or even worse that they hyped the event knowing full well that they were not going to show anything.

I agree with you, I actually think than both consoles will have their strengths and that the Ps5 will more than make up with that anything lost in other areas, like the Tflop difference which is minor. But even playing devil's advocate, the "factual" numbers wise difference on paper this time around is only 18% in the Tflops count, with what we've seen Sony Developers do with 50% less, they will do laps around this minor difference.
Facts! There's nothing that looks like God of War, Horizon, TLOU2 or Ghost of Tsushima on the One X a console that is on paper close to 50% more powerful than the Ps4 Pro, imagine what the same developers will do for the Ps5 with a difference of only around 18%

100% agree, we're still hearing about TLOU2 controversy and if you go to YouTube they make videos about it every single day, instead with MS, some sites and youtubers are already not only trying to sweep under the rug what happened at the MS event, but also congratulating them on a job well done and how they owned up to their "mistake" and that they actually never really promised gameplay on their gameplay only event. Truly pathetic.

I'm telling you right now that after the dissapointing release of most of those games that the 14 new studios are making (the July show might be good, I mean, I remember how MS got people hyped about Crackdown 3 and the Cloud), the new wait for E3 will be when MS finally says that they will be making next-gen only games 2 to 3 years down the line, then we will hear again how THEN we will finally see this "big difference" between the consoles and...
