That's basically half the price of the Series X and more than 2/3 of the Series S, that's insane.
Both will sell as many units as they can produce, that's the real number, whatever they can produce, that's how much they will sell.

Their strategy with Bethesda is "on one side you might get gamepass because you get the games for free and on the other, if you don't get gamepass you pay full price for the game on competing consoles, win-win"
It's one thing to offer an update of a newly released game, that people would just wait to buy for next gen if they don't offer the free upgrade upfront and another it's a REMASTER of an already released game.
70$ it's the same price as what the new Nba2k will cost, for 70$ we are getting BOTH Spiderman Miles Morales AND the Original Spiderman REMASTERED with ALL of the DLC, that's crazy value for me.
I would try and do a remake/reimagining of the original MSX Metal Gear/Metal Gear 2, now that would get me really excited.
Some people seem to think that a difference of ONLY 16% in GPU (MUCH less than the difference of almost 50% between the Ps4 Pro and the One X, and we all know how that went.) it's going to equate to the ps5 doing ONLY 1080p at 30fps and the Series X 4k at 120fps.

I play games, not income statements, everybody and their mother knows that MS it's a trillion dollar company, they are still being DESTROYED by both Sony AND Nintendo on the console market.

Sony needs to continue doing what they're doing of increasing the number of internal teams that every developer under their umbrella has and growing organically by adding developers they have great relationships with, just like they did with Insomniac, so Bluepoint, Housemarque and maybe something out of the left field like Remedy or from the japanese market Level 5.
They don't need to retaliate, I'm sure they will continue with the plans they had the day before...

I don't know about you, but I'm playing Demon's Souls this year and R&C when it comes out, 2 clear next generation games with my ps5 + all the cross generation games
People are so desperate that they are probably going through the screens as fast as they can without even realizing they are buying the wrong Xbox X, just a stupid naming choice for the new gen.

Agree 100%, on the basis of MUCH faster loading times and stable performance alone the next gen is worth the price of admission for me.

There were always going to be shortages, it's a launch, there was never going to be enough for everybody, but there were some locations that got allocated 2 Series X and 2 Series S consoles, that's inexcusable.
I know I was able to secure a Ps5 pre-order only because of what happened, if not it would've been incredibly more difficult to do it if everybody and their mother were waiting at the same time for them to go live
I agree, people are mad because of what happened with the Ps5 pre-orders, but honestly, I don't think me and many others would have been able to pre-order if the stores respected their deadlines, and scalpers didn't get as many
Agree, this deal happened because Bethesda it's not the company it was on last generation, taking Doom out which is amazing, they've had blunder after blunder with Fallout 76, Elder Scrolls Blades, Wolfenstein Young Blood, which are some of the worst, most hated games of the generation
On top of that commercial failures like the last Dishonored, Rage, The Evil Within 2 (which I loved).

Wow, that's a lot of dough, now I'm even more curious to see what their strategy will be, will they go FULL exclusive or a case by case basis, they will need to recoup all that money.
Sony will definitely need to respond to this with their own set of purchases, if Bethesda will actually be FULLY exclusive, this IS more of a blow than all the other Studios MS bought before put together.
