Think about it, 13 million Wiis, and at least as many DS's.
That's 50 consoles per MINUTE they're pumping out. How much more do you want them to do? That's nearly a console per second!
It's not like some of the companies making the parts for the Wii can keep up either. Some of them are making very complicated pieces that had virtually no demand at all before the Wii.
With games for the Wii like Brawl, Endless Ocean, No More Heroes, Mario Kart, Mushroom Men, Okami, Monster Lab, Animal Crossing, Disaster: Day of Crisis, Dragon Quest Swords, and FF: CC (I'm so glad I saved this list) comming to the Wii, I don't think the PS3 will run away with anything next year.
Also, let's not assume all of the games annouced for next year will be the only ones comming next year. Any console could still land a few as-of-yet-unannouced monster hits.

This is an estimate too. They don't sit there and count every single game console sold at every store in Germany. They take some data and estimate the number sold in the country from that.
Even if you think the PS3 will pass the 360 (and I would agree, it will), you're thinking far too short term.
Another $200 is going to have to drop from the price to really make it move consoles (even the Wii has not hit the mass market price yet). It also needs at least one or two of its big name games next year.

I wouldn't buy a game about a pear rolling down stairs just because it looks nice.
1. 360 owners bought more GH3, though. Install base means nothing when we look at a single game, since we can see how well the game sold on each platform, and that is better than the install base.
2. Getting a very high score on GH3 is a hardcore thing. You can make anything hardcore with online compitition. Also, I made a list of good games for the Wii somewhere else, and it compared well to the future list of 360/PS3 combined games.

The Wii has sold over twice as much, and the 360 is still two years away from the PS3 at this rate.
I mean, I don't really care about Germany, but if Germany has turned from the land of chocolate to Sony, it has a lot of converting to do.

I can agree with a lot of this list. I still play Goldeneye with my friends, sometimes, but Perfect Dark...never.
I disagree with Harvest Moon on his list, as well. It's not a very hyped franchise, anyway, which makes it hard to be overrated in the first place, and it's a solid game, every time. It's not often the best game, but it's not overrated.

Sorry, but just because you like a franchise doesn't mean one of the games wasn't terrible overrated. FF7 was a great game, but not the best game of all time, and not even the best game in the dang series! If your a FF fan, you should enjoy the fact that so many people think FF7 was so great, when you know it's not even the best.

There are too many bugs and flaws in games now, because developers think they can just fix them, now, with patches. I'm not buying into that, myself. Ship a product that I could consider finished, or don't ship it at all.

I think they're breaking the stereotype. They want to stop that thinking that gamers are people without lives, that only play games and yell at people while they play online.
They want the gamer to be the same as the movie watcher, the book reader, and the music listener. They want the gamer to be seen as "normal," because, like it or not, that is not what we are considered, because of those old targets.

If not, then catagorize the generations and accept that the Wii is this gen, as are the PS3 and 360.

You should thank them for almost insuring the industry gets enough growth that a PS4 and 5 and a y and zbox 360 can come to be.
Without a change to draw in people who aren't normally gamers (and that doesn't mean by making it possible to play movies for $400), and making everyone a gamer, the industry is doomed.
200 million people will not sustain an industry like this.
