God of War doesn't need one but it's still 2022 as of right now. Even if it's somehow delayed to 2023, what we do know....
January: Uncharted: The Lost Legacy
February: Horizon: Forbidden West
March: Gran Turismo 6, Ghostwire: Tokyo
May: Forspoken
Fall/Winter 2022: PSVR2 and VR Titles
Sony had a 6 month drought.... Microsoft goes into 12 month droughts.
Sony started with Miles Morales, Astro's Playroom and Demon's Souls at launch ....to Microsoft's....previous gen games on GamePass.
Then Sony dropped Returnal, Finally Fantasy VII: Intergrade, Kena: Bridge of Spirits, Deathloop and Ratchet & Clank....Microsoft dropped Flight Simulator and Psychonauts (Which is multiplat)
Microsoft dropped Halo Infinite...
Except he hasn't really produced anything.
This game is not even close to GoW from a gameplay standpoint if the first one is anything to go by. A beautiful game with cinematic cutscenes and walking with pretty generic combat. They have alot to do to match what God of War does.
"I never saw it marketed as that, but it pretty much is just that. It's all about optimization. It wasn't that long ago that 1080p and 60 FPS was a pipe dream. Now it's not good enough. This is the problem when spec chasing happens. It's never going to be good enough when you're always chasing cutting edge specs. Pretty soon 4k 120 won't be good enough cuz we'll have 8k 120 with full Ray tracing etc etc. Then repeat ad nauseam. Series S is a damn fine system, ...
"And besides, look how many people game on PC using older machines. Sure they don't get the best specs on those older PCs, but they are out there and that hasn't hindered PC gaming. The series S is just like a lower end PC in that regard. It has the guts to be able to run all the games, they just may not have all those graphical bells and whistles. It has the SSD and slightly less powerful guts, but for 90% of the mass market, it's good enough. It runs Forza, Halo, Dying Ligh...
Literally only one of these 5 is a reason to buy it (GamePass). Being available isn’t a reason to buy it, it’s a reason to raise an eyebrow at it.
It’s only keeping up because a majority of current games are on last gen engines. We’ll see how this looks in a couple years, I think you’ll start to see a bigger gap between the X and S once all these games start moving to UE5 etc.
Yep. It may not be the highest polygon count game or have the most amazing character models but it is rendering ALOT.
Nope. The $10 isn’t worth having a non physical next-gen version….and who wants a PS4 box in their PS5 collection? OCD says no.
From a distance
This state of play was happening with or without the activision acquisition. Sony features a big release during these on a regular basis. Business acquisitions that have shown no tangible benefit to the gamer are irrelevant at this point. The reality is Microsoft will have 4 exclusives in the first 2 years the console has been out. I own both consoles, but Microsoft in terms of game quality is still behind the eight ball and they know it…hence having to buy publishers. Have fun waiting for th...
Hands down the best console remote I’ve used. Bigger and more comfortable than the DualShock4 and the rumble features/adaptive triggers/built in speaker for some in-game audio are really next-gen. My series X remote feels dead in comparison when you go back and forth between the two.
in 14 months the Xbox has gotten Flight Simulator, Forza Horizon 5 and Halo Infinite.
You’ll be able to say in 24 months we have gotten Flight Simulator, Forza Horizon 5, Halo Infinite and Starfield.
I guess the activision purchase has people smoking that good stuff because this is a pretty barren 2 years.
It’s the music. It’s perfect. I agree with this for sure, it is well choreographed….unfortunately the game didn’t live up to the trailer.
Mostly because they make one game per decade
It Takes Two is hands down GOTY. What a blast that was.
Xbox has had a really brutal go so far. The way people talk you’d think the opposite. 12 months from launch to get Forza Horizon 5 and Halo Infinite. Another 12 months to get Starfield and STALKER 2. 4 AAA exclusives in 24 months is not a great pace.
2022:

Any acquisition for the most part is a good acquisition. However I don’t think this moves the needle much as a majority of the big titles here are PC games that console gamers simply do not care about. The main question is if Call of Duty remains multiplatform or not. If it does, and this just becomes a day 1 gamepass acquisition then Sony is still Sony. Call of duty exclusive would be a big blow though.
obv meant 7. Ghostwire is an MS game but Sony still has exclusivity. Just like Deathloop by the time the exclusivity ends nobody will care about it.
