I thought it was suppossed to come out before MGS4? if so the 10th sounds the more likely date to me.

I'd say he looked more like an obese Robin Williams. Half-Life was a great game, very enjoyable but lets not get carried away. Valve are incapable of properly supporting the console formats so its pretty obvious they would talk up the PC format, thats their bread and butter format.

Perhaps if PC developers had not got so lazy and complacent with us gamers then there would still be more around instead of heading in droves for the console format. Back before the internet was a m...

PC developers (including Valve) shot themselves i nthe foot years ago. Just as the internet become more widely available to the home user back in the mid 90's so we saw a big increase in the number of patches being released for games. At first it seemed like minor bug fixes with a lot of patches including new content, levels etc. Soon the tide started to turn and developers just got lazy. With the advent of the internet they could push titles out the door with increasing speed and develop sof...

I think most gamers would love a room just setup for gaming like he has with surround sound, nice big TV etc. Can't say I share his taste in colours though or his devotion to the 360 in regards to the logo's on display etc. When I clicked on the link I wondered if this was going to be like a butchers cold storage room so he could avoid the dreaded RROD :) he should put the cans of drink under the TV and put the 360 in the fridge.

It was poor on the PC and now its poor and dated on the consoles.

I'm still sitting on the fence, started to feel the hype grabbing hold of me and backed off so I think I'll rent it.

Its what the XBOX needs, Tiger Woods is a great technical game but it lacks the fun factor of something like Everbody's Golf: World Tour or the old Links series which I loved on the original XBOX. It looks like a straight rip off of Everbody's Golf though with less detailed courses but it should be fun.

I'm not sure how they would do this without inspecting packets to see what they are being used for. At present they do not so with games using standard ports to access the internet then I don't see how they will achieve this. I do know they throttle high useage customers because a friend of mine if on Virgin cable while I am with BT and despite my connection being half as fast as his I downloaded a demo file in the region of a few hundred MB in half the time - to say he wasn't impressed would...

SEGA doesn't have the money to do this and with the current economic climate who would loan them the money to jump into such a cut throat market - one they have already lost in once. How do these stories get approved? not only is it an extremely poorly written article but the spelling is atrocious.

Its good to hear that Sony has replaced his unit but the Consumerist is pathetic to try and claim they had anything to do with this but typical of their spotlight grabbing tactics as they tried and failed with their 'dusty PS3' crusade. It sounds more like a supervisor doing follow-up work on outstanding cases and deciding they could do more with this particular case.

Sony should be getting their existing MMOG's onto the PS Network, Everquest, Pirates of the Burning Sea, Planetside and Star Wars: Galaxies, I think SWG would raise quite a bit of interest.

Welcome to the world of PC gaming, a world where everyone is considered a thief and you have to jump through hoops just to be able to play the game you paid good money for. As if having to spend time tinkering with settings just to get the game to run adequately because its poorly optimised and full of bugs you also have to worry about copy protection.

Of course this is nothing new, I remember SafeDisc causing me problems trying to run the original Age of Empires game, I had to...

Thank god EA didn't get it. Good news for 360 and PS3 owners as Codemasters develop decent versions of their games on both platforms and don't resort to poor ports from one format to another.

It was a constant annoyance to me to have to keep buying Microsoft branded equipment when I owned a 360. The HDD is the biggest consumer rip off of all their peripherals. Sony got it right by allowing people to use their own Bluetooth headsets which many people already own, and to allow them to buy any 2.5" SATA HDD to fit in the PS3. Its a simple upgrade and the data on the PS3 HDD is just as safe as the data on the 360 HDD both Microsoft and Sony's DRM's see to that.

Its a common indicator someone is losing a debate when they resort to insults and childish comments. PC gaming is a money pit, I'll always own a PC and will use one for gaming but I'm not blind to the facts like some are.

There are more and more independant developers using the console format on XBOX Live and Playstation Network. Both companies have initiatives to encourage this and its becomming cheaper and cheaper to do so. There are options of course for the PC such as Valve's Steam but as Half-Life 2 was pirated is it as secure as the console option?

I've got no issues in paying for quality content, nobody forces me to buy anything I pick and choose what I want but if its quality stuff then ...

I know plenty about the parts I buy, I've been doing this for long enough to know just putting a new graphics card in your PC isn't necessarily going to help if its bottlenecked by a slow CPU or lack of RAM. Its no coincidence that a lot of my LAN party one-time PC only mates are now buying consoles especially when faced by the poorly optimised and buggy software the developers are pushing on PC users.
