Haha, exactly.
The review makes this sound like exactly what I've been waiting for. A little disappointed by the comments on the move controls (preordered the doomsday edition) but maybe that's just a preference thing.
Can't wait to get this. Always love Insomniacs games and this sounds like it's among their very best.
edit: And now....commencing radio silence till I finish the singleplayer. Not ...
Finally a review for these. Preordered them on amazon when they were $60 on a blind guess and it turns out worth it.
No more having to play games on mute with subtitles (90% of my game time is at night). These are a Godsend at $60.
I highly doubt I'll end up not liking R3 so I already preordered the doomsday edition from amazon.
I'm just staying away from most of the comments section to avoid spoilers.
Can't wait.
Haha, it's always good to see that someone can correct themselves.
+bubbles for that
And yeah, there was...MGS3 Subsistence and...hm. Could've sworn there was more.
The singleplayer was also pretty fun. KZ2 was dark and realistic but KZ3 was bright and just funner. It really is sad that it didn't do to well. Like every level was something different and it just was fun at all times.
Didn't try the multiplayer though.
That's so true. I don't know how that mediocre game got anything over a 6-7. The stealth felt useless (stealth is not* turn on invisible and walk for 5 seconds with enemies that can instantly see you from 100 yards away when invisiblity turns off) and the shooting felt boring.
Made it about 3 hours in and found out it's like 15 hours long and returned it to gamefly (I always finish my games). Money saved by never buying that thing.
Yeah they were pretty long the last time I played them. R1 in particular sometimes felt like it would never end. Good of course but it was a long FPS.
How did it hint he would? We* all just grasped at straws to figure out how he could be alive.
The whole game was saying from the beginning he had a ticking time bomb death wish, it said constantly that he was turning into a chimera, he went and completely turned into a chimera and then he got a gaping hole shot through his head.
If anything, R2 was heavily* hinting that he would not be coming back.
@ sarcasm
Actually they switched to tomahawks in black ops. They used throwing knives in mw2. So they actually didn't change anything.
And if they replace claymore mines with those, it's better. You can duck and they won't hurt you (those came out in mw2's singleplayer). Instead of just instant death.
Overall samey and it highlights probable quickscoping and annoying grenade launchers frequently.
But...
Autumn starts Sept 21st. Winter starts Dec 21st.
Either way, good God is that a lot of games.
Anyone think Brutal Legend is worth $10?
Graphics aside (and even the graphics are just post apocalyptic in a generic way), this game really seems boring. Id might be masters of programming but the gameplay just hasn't sold me. And the story's like never talked about.
With everything coming out this year, this is a pass for me so far.
The only thing it had going for it was the FO comparison. And now this.
This is the next game I'm getting from gamefly. Always looked good to me but just never got it.
(Have to mention it, 3 months of gamefly for only $17 if a friend recommends you. You don't even have to be recommended by me if you think it's spam. Just find a friend that has it and ask them to recommend you. It'll even give them $20. It's really an unbelievable deal that not enough people use.)
He only seems to mention the singleplayer of CoD if that's worth noting. Which (besides mw2's plot, ugh) are actually pretty fun on a basic level.
It's odd that they didn't mention the fact that he's making a game. Releasing....2013 if I recall correctly.
Also, Pan's Labyrinth is my favorite movie.
I liked the Gears 2 trailer a little* more than Mad World and this one but you can always count on Gears to have a good trailer.
I think he means they're all mostly first person games.
It's pretty unbelievable to narrow them down to just that but whatever.
@ BLACK
Haha, wow. That's a disturbing analogy.
Yeah but how many people still play multiplayer for games that aren't halo or cod or bf?
If you like multiplayer, you already have those big multiplayer games. And you only really tend to touch the singleplayer.
I mean, does anyone really play...brutal legend multiplayer still?
Yeah this never sounded good to me. It must suck to spend so much time making a game for it to end up being terrible.
In the first half of the quote you used, he said he dislikes them all.
This just happens to be a moment of liberal hypocrisy that he's talking about.
